As a Rangers fan, very annoyed by the Canes draft. In my own personal rankings I had Jarvis at 5, Gunler at 11, and Nybeck at 33. You guys got some serious talent this draft.

Jarvis is going to be in the Panarin mold. He makes everything out of nothing. If he learns to shoot as well as Panarin can, he could come close to being that good. Absolute gamebreaker.

Crosby, Skinner. Just need a stupidly ridiculous core and thighs.

Technically, both are over 5’10 though. :DD Yeah, only an inch, but still, they are.

Skinner is listed as 5’11 195lbs, so he’s an inch taller and not quite 200 (although after seeing him irl, I think both his Listed height and weight might be exaggerated).

Crosby is also 5’11, 200.

My nitpicking aside, my point is we probably don’t need Jarvis to be 190 or 200 lbs to be effective, and in fact, getting that big may hinder some aspects of his game (and may not). Lots/most shorter guys are effective in the 170-185 range. If his body type adapts to a 195/200 lb weight and he can be effective, then that’s fine, just don’t think that needs to be an objective.

It was always fun to enter a “smurfy Skinner” thread and point out he has almost identical physical dimensions to Sidney Crosby.

Times I’ve seen him in real life, I’ve always been suspicious of Skinner’s listed height. Seems shorter than 5’11” to me.

pictures can be deceiving, but here he is next to Ed Sheeran, who is 5’8”, and Dalpe who is 6’1” or 6’2”. Of course, we can’t see what shoes they all have on.

Nice Guy Jeff was bending his knees to make Ed feel better.

NHL player heights have always been more than a little fishy. There are definitely a lot of guys whose heights seem to have been measured in their skates and still standing on pucks.

If guys pan out (many of them won't, but hey), we could have quite an interesting roster in 4 years:

Bokk-Aho-Teravainen
Svechnikov-Necas-Jarvis
Suzuki-Drury-Geekie
Lorentz (or UFA)-Cotton-Mattheos

Slavin-Hamilton
Skjei-Pesce
Bean or Fleury-Keane
Sellgren

UFA or Trade
Kotchetkov or Makiniemi

Where prospects bust or aren't ready, you can replace the name with a UFA or trade asset. That's a lot of interesting prospects, though, and those are the one that I project to make the team in 4 years if all pans out and doesn't include the vast majority of the guys from the 2019 or 2020 draft outside of the top picks (the other guys, to me, are more in the 6-8 year time frame, just because of how deep our team is).

Ed Sheeran is so attentive, to take a picture with these guys while looking at both of them at once.
