Taken from your last link:

Any forceful or powerful chop with the stick on an opponent’s body, the opponent’s stick, or on or near the opponent’s hands that, in the judgement of the referee, is not an attempt to play the puck, shall be slashing,” Rule 71.1 states.

Marners slash was not a forceful nor powerful chop, so it did not deserve a penalty. There have been worse slashes that have gone uncalled for this very game.

Cracking down on slashing does not mean you call everything on the gloves as you seem to imply.

The Leafs bottom six looking really strong tonight. Particularly liking Lindholm and Gauthier.

While it's only been a handful of games but Lindholm has looked like one of the better 4th liners the Leafs have had in recent memory.

And the GOAT looks like an NHL player now.

Man the kings interfere every play. I’d like to see them weed that out of the game.

They're still a dangerous forechecking team. Been impressed with their game despite the lack of finish. Not a threat to the Leafs as they are way too old, but still a really good team.
