It would be the smart thing to do. But they are in some pain as it' near impossible to move Weber and Price without taking some garbage back.

Patches is all but gone. Maybe they'd be willing to move Chucky and Gally as well. Bergevin complety destroyed this team.

Still think they should take BPA. Zadina is that.

For the rebuilding, they should look to move;

Pacioretty
Byron
Benn
Schlemko
Petry

If they are trying to unload for picks and prospects.

Seems like if a rebuild is in process then Weber and Price should be looked to move as they are the Habs star players along with Pacioretty.

Considering they are not really in a position to win a Cup, why not rebuild?

Made some good tdl moves and I would continue to do so. Personally, if I was making the decisions, I would go to a team like Philly and say, give me your best package for Price.

Getting a kings ransom for Price could go a long way to a successful rebuild.

Also think that Montreal taking Tkachuk over Zadina would be a disaster. Zadina has a ton of upside and Tkachuk had an okay year as the oldest player in this years draft.

step 1: fire bergevin

This!

The reality is that a winger is not what MTL needs. MB really needs to hit a home run this summer and do something about Patches. About the only positive is that MB has a fair bit of CAP space and could take on a contract from a CAP tight team like Washington or the Oilers for picks or prospects. If MB can trade down to grab Kotkaniemi at 5/6 and use that additional pick / prospect to package a bunch of the second round picks to grab Dobson or Bouchard I think that would be a fantastic move.

year 6 of Bergevin's 5 year plan - completely tear this shit down and rebuild

What incredible management vision the only reason he hasn't been fired is he completely rolled Geoff Molson for his work extension. Molson might actually be dumber than Bergevin thats scary

A team like Philly who can’t get over the hump because of their goaltending?

Price is still easily a top goalie in the league and I’m a Canucks fan.

You think he’s washed up?

Seems like Bergevin just got told he's in charge of the rebuild 2.0

If he was told to both acquire picks and prospects and improve the team next season, then he just got told to work some magic or we'll find someone else to do the job.

I guess this takes them out of the Tavares sweepstakes.

They weren't really in it, but the tweet says that management was told to improve the team next year too. Every team that has the space is going to take a serious run at Tavares, and more than a couple of teams without space will also take a run at Tavares.
