Or you don’t because it unlocks another level of Necas. Necas and TT play the same position.

On the History board, we consider it a positive flag on a player when the players dropped on his line instantly transformed into elite talent, and were then forgotten about after being taken off his line.

Something to mull about where Aho fits into this picture.

The main weakness (probably the only weakness) of the Aho-Turbo combination is they get so busy trying to be the Harlem Globetrotters and passing the puck around 14 bazillion times, they forget to actually shoot it. Splitting them up solves that, if Necas can continue this rapid development he's on.

I’m plenty hammered because I’m off tomorrow but I’ll have an actual useful post about why keeping Necas with Aho is the way to go but for now I feel like the appropriate evidence is just.......duuuuuuuhhhhh. They are the two best skating forwards on the team and it’s not particularly close.

It was fun on the international board once when a Czech guy told his discussion partner and everyone else as a matter of fact, with any apologizing completely absent, that he's currently incapable of going into deeper discussion on some nuances of the game on account of being drunk as a skunk seeing it's Friday 4 p.m. in Czech Republic.

Sick wrap around goal from Necas tonight Carolina friends! Detroit just got spanked. Looking forward to our next matchup.

Thankfully for you hardy Wings fans, they haven't gotten smoked like this in a while. At least you can say that those guys play with heart, which you cannot say for Buffalo right now.

Lempo, a Finn:
Actually, I was partially reminded of the observations of an American stand-up comic on a youtube video, where he would wonder that when setting up future schedules with a Finn, the said Finn would look up his calendar and note on some free days "... no, I'm gonna be hung over that day...". And I was like, yes, this is normal behavior, what about it... oh. Oh.

I don't have the sense the team (on the ice anyway) has really suffered from Teravainen specifically being gone. When Tro got hurt, it became noticeable at that point

If it was just Trocheck hurt and Turbo was healthy, I don't think we would've skipped a beat, either. Having both out is the kicker.

Any chance we also miss Gardiner a bit? That's a question, not a position, especially since I haven't been able to watch the games, just listen to them and read the posts on here.

A big part of why Trocheck's absence was so noticeable is that we went 2-1-2 in the first 5 games after he went out. But Gardiner went out the game before Trocheck did, so he was missing those 5 games as well. The reason I ask is that lately I seem to be reading about difficulties getting the puck out of our own end. Hadn't Gardiner been playing well before he tweaked his back again? How big a part of that was moving the puck up the ice?

Like I said, I haven't had eyes on the games, so curious to hear from you all that have.

Well, yes, Gardiner was playing well. The thing is that the Troch and Turbo injuries had a greater impact because of the depth on the blue line.

If both come back healthy, I think you put the Tro, Necas and Nino line back together and put Aho and TT and winger back together. Why make Tro learn two new guys when he and Nino and Nitro were already working?

They might have an easier time finding Trocheck a linemate via the trade market than the particular type of 3rd wheel that the Finns need. Imagine Rakell and Trocheck on a 3rd scoring line. That's 2006 depth.

Nashville having a rebound and Chicago falling back to Earth may have thwarted the sell-off rumors, which makes a Forsberg or Arvidsson deal less likely. Hoping that the Buffalo stink washes away from Taylor Hall is a huge, huge risk. The payoff could be huge, yes, but the market price that someone may be willing to pay might be quite low.
