i hope ned is perfectly healthy and doesn't play a single game in the playoffs.

because that could only mean one thing.

seriously, though, it is nice to have confidence in any of our goalies especially given the narrative applied to the team at the beginning of the season. the majority of our deep playoff runs have seen two goalies both step up at one point or another. at least that is how my memory sees it. time to open another tab and research before i hit submit, but:

2002 - irbe and weekes
2006 - gerber and wardo (gerber didn't do much, but the shutout of buffalo in game 4 to even the series counts as stepping up - i will brook no argument on this)
2019 - mrazek and mcbackup

2009 was lone ranger wardo (though leighton must have been paying close attention given what he did with his next few playoff games)

For gosh sake, just get the 2 points tonight! Because if Canes lose in regulation tonight and Tampa wins tomorrow, they pull within 2 points with 2 games to go (and TB owns the tiebreaker). I know they play Fla the last two, but Vasilevskiy can easily steal one or both. And I don't want there to be any chance that the Canes players might start to grip their sticks too hard if they end up needing to win their last 2 in order to take the division after many (perhaps including some of the players) have more of less already penciled us in.
