Yes we lost to them but it was close the majority of the games is all I'm saying. No one has blown our doors off for 60 minutes, even with the injuries.

There was 2 games this year where we looked over matched and just plain sucked. Strangley 1 was against the Wings, the other the Bolts. I understand the Bolts they are the defending champs but against the wings? Losing a game is ok but we got run by them in a game.

Well, yes our biggest loss was 3-0 to Tampa, with the third being ENG.
So you guys think the main boards will admit we are one of the top teams in the league?
NAH. THEY ARE TOO BUSY WITH RANGERS TWITTER STATEMENT.

This is just a fan thing but...

I was working during all of the first and most of the second. I was glancing periodically at the screen and it was 2-1 Hawks when I turned it off and headed home. Got home at 2-2. Then as I watched it became 6-3.

Seriously think I'm a big part of this teams record, think I can squeeze some money out of Tom D.? I think I'm pretty important to the on ice product

I'm not saying there aren't games where we haven't been outplayed. We've actually won quite a few where that's the case. All I'm saying is that we didn't an asswhooping anywhere near close to what most championship teams in many sports get over the course of a season. But we still have 3 games to go... lol

The Thrashers once beat us 9-0 in our Stanley Cup-winning year. Stinkers happen sometimes and it happens to the best of teams.

Yeah I’m running out of superlatives with this team. This is the best I’ve seen a Canes team play including 2006.

Even if the bandwagon crashes at some point, at least we had this high for a little while.
36 wins in 53 games... what else is there to say?

So far in just over half a season, they've earned more points than 4 other Canes teams have in full seasons since relocation. If they win out, they get to 85 points, which would pass another 6 teams worth of seasons, which is crazy to think about.

Yeah there was some sort stat bouncing around on Twitter highlighting how much time we've trailed by more than 2 goals. AFAIK, it's like a trivially small amount. I'll go look for it.
THING WAS NOT HOW MUCH TIME WE TRAILED BY MORE THAN 2. WE HAVE LOST ONLY ONCE BY MORE THAN TWO.

EVEN TWO GOAL LOSSES ARE FEW. 2 TO TAMPA, 3 TO DETROIT, 1 TO CHICAGO. I THINK.

They’re currently at an 82-game pace of 122 points.

Only 6 teams in history have broken 122 points in a season

lirl Teuvo's shooting spree since he came back from injury is because he's a "mad Finn" according to Slavin

Exactly, it's crazy. This team just doesn't trail much at all, much less by multiple goals.

How did these teams DO IN THE PLAY-OFF?

First, I was mistaken — only 6 teams have done it.

3 won the Cup, but really it was only one team. The 1976, 1977, and 1978 Montreal Canadiens.

1996 Detroit goofed in the Finals and got swept by the Devils.

2006 Detroit goofed in the first round and got bounced by the Oilers.

2019 Tampa goofed in the first round and got swept by the Blue Jackets.

Noteworthy — 2013 Chicago was also at this level but didn’t hit 122 because of the short season. They won the Cup.
