Yeah I’m running out of superlatives with this team. This is the best I’ve seen a Canes team play including 2006.

In this case, some of it is probably because Aho was on the PK unit that scored the first ENG and then Chicago kept the goalie pulled for the very next shift. Obviously Aho wasn’t taking both shifts and that’s Svech’s centerman, so Svech stayed on the bench.

Rod probably could’ve just thrown him out there for the sake of cherry-picking the second one, but that’s not really who he is as a coach or where this team is mentally.

The Colorado fans were in full denial mode a couple of weeks ago about our team being able to compete with their core. They can probably sit down now. TBF, MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Makar, Toews, and Girard is an excellent group...but their support cast isn't as deep as ours and their special teams haven't been as productive.
