Weird discrepancy with Nathan Smith's birthday. EliteProspects says he turned 21 yesterday, HockeyDB says he turns 21 today.

Dylan Samberg is looking strong for Duluth. Caught his last three games, fairly good with the puck and strong in his own end

I was disappointed in his D+1 season but that is a very promising start in NCAA.

He's intriguing for sure, from what I saw in his D+1 he's got a chance to be a big offensive guy if he puts it all together. Think he's in a great spot at mankato to figure it out playing against solid older players every weekend and he can let his talent shine

Have to admit what Nathan Smith is doing is impressive even if he is a 21 year old freshman. Did not know he has his childhood teammate on his wing. That must help getting acclimated to the NCAA.

NCAA rules state that a player has to sit out the year if they're transferring schools. Looks like he's attending Niagara but can't play for them until next year. Probably also means that he might as well be written off as a prospect.

He'#s got a pretty cool name, tho. I guess it sounded good reading it off the draft charts that year?

Yeah I'm thinking he is likely done either way. The Moose might offer him a gig to play for them once he's done but in all likelihood he's a career minor leaguer at this point.

Lots of talk about interactions with the Jets and future opportunities. Family encouraged him to continue his college education (is taking a heavy course load). After this year, he would have a bit more than a semester left to get his degree.

Certainly no indications of reluctance to join the Jets. Lots of discussion about Pionk and their connection as former Hermantown HS and UMD players.

They've had a lot of injuries on D, and the timing is most likely related to the imminent return of Beaulieu.

Virtanen scores on a penalty shot and is back to centering the top line. 3G2A in 6GP so far this season. It's nice to see him continue to progress even with all his injury problems.

Yes probably connected to Beaulieu returning. That has nothing to do with having sat Heinola in the PB for 5 games. Schilling could sit in the PB.
