OHL approve the sale of the Belleville Bulls to Michael Andlauder and the relocation to Hamilton for the 15-16 season. The team will be renamed the Hamilton Bulldogs and play in the OHL east division.
The AHL has approved the sale of the current Hamilton Bulldogs to the Montreal Canadiens who will relocate them to St. John's, NL for next season. The AHL also approved the relocation of the Winnipeg Jets' AHL farm team in St. John's to the MTS Centre in Winnipeg for 15-16.
Hamilton goes to the OHL and joins Manchester, Worcester, Glens Falls, Norfolk and Oklahoma City as former AHL cities. Winnipeg is back on a temp basis until either Thunder Bay is complete or another city becomes an option. St. John's becomes the next Adirondack with the clock counting down two seasons until the franchise is relocated to a new building in Laval, QC that is expected to be ready for the fall 2017.
