Wow. Using a quote from one of the biggest buffoons to ever grace the NHL, to try and prove a point. The swiss league didn't even want this loser. Bravo.
So what is your point as he is among a large group of people who get paid to speak about hockey that believes that Marner is fast?

This Buffoon is this case is 100% correct. Maybe waiting until he is wrong before calling him a Buffoon would be prudent as you have made your self look silly.

Mitch slow... Lmao. Elite skater.

I'd love to see Mitch dish one (or many) of his elite passes to Kappanen through the neutral zone. Surely he can't out skate his also elite passes.

Isn't that the goal for these types?

I don't think Marner is the fastest straight line skater (Maybe we're spoiled with watching Kap) but his side to side transitions and his edges are probably up there at the top for this team. He gets in open spots super quick.

Nylander, Gardiner, Rielly and probably still Marleau are faster in a straight line. Now, Marner can change directions and use his edges with the best in the league, especially when you combine it with his hands/puck control. This makes him arguably are most elusive player in tight situations and is why even as a small guy he hardly gets laid out in open ice.

Mitch will be a PPG player next season. That will be his 3rd 60+ point season already.
You kids can keep loving Sebastien Aho more though.

I can easily see Mitch being our biggest point producer over the next few seasons. All he needed was capable linemates. I'm so tired of the "yeah but he plays against easier competition" garbage. He's absolutely flourished playing against top players.

2015 Draft Class - 2017-2018 Stats:

Mitch Marner - RW - (6' 0", 170 lbs) - May 5, 1997 (age 20) ..... 63 games 15 goals 32 assists 47 points & -7 +/-
vs.
Sebastian Aho - LW - (5' 11", 172 lbs) - Jul 26, 1997 (age 20) ... 57 games 21 goals 26 assists 47 points & -3 +/-

Are these good comparables for their next contracts as both are in the 2nd years of ELC at present?
Not going to include last season or the fact Mitch spent 50 games as a bottom 6 forward?

Marner needs 19 points in 18 games to get 70 points. I think that can happen especially when he has the knack for getting a multi point night.

For me the dilemma is that while Marner and Nylander are magic together, as we all knew they would be,the other 3 lines are not really going to be dangerous.
They can defend fairly well, but when the other teams start focusing on Marner/nylander, this could be a problem.
