I think I'd lean Boston too. According to their board many of their top guys looks rusty and Carlo looks overweight. Give them a swift kick to the nuts before they have a chance to get going later in the Playoffs.

The Canes bottom-6 matches up much more favorably to the Bruins bottom-6 than last year. If Boston's top line is stale and their shutdown D are slow then I could see the Canes having the edge. Especially if Mrazek/Reimer continue to shine.

I think we were good enough to hang with them last year, we were just running on fumes by that point. We'd been in playoff mode since late December. Damn near must wins all the times for months is grueling. If we could have a repeat performance on their top guys, I think we'll play them much tougher. I like our depth, we're fairly healthy and rested, our top guys are playing even better than last year, the big break this time I don't think will factor in nearly as much as last time. They would be a tough opponent, and that match up bores me a bit, but I think we'd do better than last year even if we lose to them.

I'm planning to blame goal tending no matter the outcome. :DD

I have a hard time putting much stock in the results of these round robin games that don't really count, but Philly is looking great and Boston/Washington are not. Either one would be a nice rivalry builder in this next round

I don't know how legit are the Flyers but they have insane depth. Not sure about the D. We could beat them but I want Bruins.

That eliminates both Tampa and Philadelphia.

Winner of Boston/Washington on Sunday gets the 3 seed.

Yeah I believe now the Canes are guaranteed to play one of Washington or Boston. Depending on if Pittsburgh wins and who wins between BOS/WSH tomorrow.

I think the lightening would be the hardest matchup....they're just so deep up front and we would really miss Pesce vs them.

It looks like we will end up playing Boston or Washington. Both really good teams but on paper I like the ability for our top pair to matchup against their first line and our depth to be better. I'm a little worried about special teams b/c I think they will call a lot of penalties on us and we saw how that went last year.

OTOH Washington look weaker than last year and we look even better. Aside from the fact that Wash will take us more seriously this time I think that is a better matchup.

Philly won't be an option so not going to bother discussing them.
