Who's your preferred opponent in Round 1? Order of preference for all teams? Obviously if the Canes keep up the relentless play they can hang with anyone, but what match up do you like best?

Flyers. We were only 1-3 against them in the regular season, the one win being an OT win at home and being outscored 13-5 in the 3 losses. I just feel they're our best matchup. The other 3 teams just have more high end talent and experience, IMO. But really, they'll all be really tough opponents so bring it on either way.

This team is ready to see what it's made of. The East is a meat grinder, and any of the top teams are favorites against the top of the West. Let's see if we're in that mix.

Personally, I'm ready for Boston. I'll vote for that.

Don't care. Bring it. We'll have to beat the best ones anyway.
It doesn't necessarily have to be about who we have the best chance to beat. Maybe you want something new in Philly or Tampa? Like the repeat and potential hate of Washington or Boston?

If I had to put it in order I think I'd go Philly, Washington, Tampa Bay, Boston. If my wife wasn't a Caps fan which makes for a couple of not as fun weeks, I'd probably put them first. As is, I think the match up with Philly could be fun and close. Washington would have the hate on repeat factor. Tampa is something new and I feel like we've kept things pretty competitive against them recently. Fun style match up. I'm not afraid of Boston, but they just don't do as much for me as a potential opponent.

Washington, DC.
Flyers, followed by Tampa. Flyers are an up and coming team, that would be a fun series. They're a lot like us, and I do think they're the easiest draw of those four- but then again, they're a lot like us, and will be fighting hard where a team like Tampa may not know how to scrape for points. It also might be fun to go for revenge against the Bruins while we're gassed up and they're still in preseason mode.

Dunno, really. I do want to face somebody we haven't faced in the playoffs before. I like variety.

Not feeling confident about any of the matchups. Washington is most favorable, I guess. Mediocre team defense. Last year inspires a little confidence too.

Philadelphia is next. Tampa’s skill is intimidating.

Boston’s PP combined with this team’s issues with penalties is a recipe for disaster, as it was last year. They most likely won’t be able to out score those problems against the best defensive club in the league.

I have it as the complete opposite order other than Tampa Bay. I am TERRIFIED of Tampa Bay after their implosion last postseason. They will be zoomed in on these playoffs like no other contender this year. After that, it's Washington because I'm sure that they feel like they owe us one after we beat them in 7 games. Then, Philadelphia, and finally Boston. I think that getting swept last year by these guys will have our boys in a zone to make sure we forecheck the living shit out of them.

I’d like to avoid Boston — partially because the Bruins are really good, partially because a series against them is just unpleasant on a fanbase level.

Tampa is just a scary good team. No thanks.

That leaves the Caps and Flyers. Between the two of them, I’ll take my chances with the Flyers. No interest in tempting fate with a Caps revenge narrative.

Caps will be pumped for revenge, I personally am not ready for the Bruins, and if you give me a choice between Philly and Tampa I choose Philly. I’d love to see the second round again and let’s face it we just have the best chance against them.

I also agree overall with the sentiment that it doesn’t matter and just bring them on whoever it is. We’re the underdog against them all.

I chose Caps as the series were great last year. But yeah, after reading these comments, I should've probably chosen Philly. Whichever team we face, it's gonna be great, tough series or at least it should be.

Boston.

I want revenge and now that we are basically at full strength I think we are primed do deliver. Plus, they looked like ass against Philly the other night.

It don't make a shit. We play who we play, just need to be ready to go from puck drop. We ran out of gas last year after the time off following the sweep, I think we'll be much more mentally prepared this time.

In a sense I say take our shot against Boston, in another sense I'd say "I'd like to have Pesce back for that one" which means not until the conference finals.
