In fairness superstars are giving him that kind of space because D cannot commit resources to cover point with McDrai on ice. That said Booch is the perfect complement to that and he's indefensible. They guy is not only hammering corners and inside posts he's timing these shots through screens. The ABC telecast was impressed with his first goal. 2nd in OT was even better. All kinds of patience. the guy has ice cold veins and scoring blood.

"Ice cold veins and scoring blood."

Maybe another turning point game?

The third period was a lot better defensively. More of that please.

Team needs another top 6 forward though. That’s a more pressing need than anything else imo.
maybe If they would stop passing so much and actually shoot the puck. That and the pp. it’s all pass, pass, pass.

and I’ve been saying for ages pickard deserves more starts. Yes the third goal wasn’t great but he kept it tied and made the saves he had to do. Skinner has been back to skinner. I don’t trust that guy at all come playoff time zero faith in him.

The ONLY way this guy is going to redeem himself at all is if he goes Pisani in the playoffs lol. There is nothing that he can do now to redeem himself. That defensive effort on that goal was insane. He should be sat.
What a childish and toxic mindset. Speaking of redemption and unpayable debts is absolute nonsense and the kind of toxic fan behavior that makes EDM a less desirable place to play.

We are a win now team as long as Brown's performance doesn't cost us a playoff spot who gives a shit about the past 40 games, whether or not this contract was a mistake will be determined entirely in the playoffs, which is a clean slate for all.

Bouchard scored literally the same goal to win a game in overtime against Colorado last year. He even opens his hips up the exact same way to draw the defender away from him and give him the space to walk in and shoot. Really shows off his offensive IQ.

3:55 into this video

Not to take anything away from Bouchard, but it was said last year that McDavid was the architect on that play. He told Bouchard to fake the pass right off the faceoff to try to open up a shooting lane.

You are 100% right, this team is a win now team.

For that reason and based on Brown’s “results” so far, he should be dumped any way it can happen and find a bottom six player that can contribute for the remainder of the season and most importantly in a play off run against LVK, Avs, Canucks, Dallas - no easy outs, no passengers.

It is hysterical the lengths that are being taken to find rationale to keep this guy on the roster.

He defines useless..

Some good stuff from Briere at the stadium series last night. Basically said he's sticking to to plan and selling guys at thr 2:45 mark to be the best team they can be down the road. Konecny pretty much embodies the city of Philadelphia and Flyers hockey at the 6:45 mark. Konecny isn't getting traded.

We thank you for your opinion Mrs Brown

Missed the game... Big win but no depth scoring again at even strength. This is becoming a major problem that needs to be addressed because you're not beating the likes of Vegas, Colorado, Dallas or even the Kings in a 7 game series with nobody outside of 2 players playing away from those 2 player doing anything to chip in offensively. Swap out Brown or Janmark for Lavoie, Pederson or anybody else.

Do....something. Amazing that they've let it go on this long without doing something to change it up outside of resorting back to McDrai. McLeod, Foegele, Holloway (what happened to him yesterday btw), do something....anything. You can live with a 4th line not scoring ever as long as they're not bleeding goals against but you can't live with a 3rd line not scoring as well.

Not trying to poo on the win, a win at Dallas is always a big one, but I'm just looking a long term problem here.

This is so irrational and hilarious to say the least

Can Lavoie possibly be worse than Brown? Seriously? Why aren’t we trying the guy out?? He’s 6’4” and is too good for the AHL. It’s stupefying.
It's odd especially considering that Lavoie's getting to the age where it's time to see what they have in him and they have a huge need for bottom 6 offense.
Even moreso now that the PK is getting slaughtered, it makes even less sense to have these PK "specialists" on the 4th line. Hell, even in the top 6. Nobody has taken that top 6 RW and run with it so why not give Lavoie a look there for a few games before the deadline while the Oilers are comfortably in a playoff spot? The Oilers continue to drop the ball with their development system and pro scouting for depth players. Boy are they lucky that they won the McLottery.
