The reason for that is I could see them bringing up the entire line of Greer - Compher - Grimaldi, and at least Bigras if not Siemens as well.

So I see five players they'd likely call up after clearing space.

It could hit six maybe, but I just doubt we will be able to unload that much. My first instinct was four though, so maybe 5 is wishful thinking.

Wouldn't be surprised if they're guessing we lose a goalie to Vegas and are trying to see if he'd be capable of being the backup next year or if they need to go out and find one.

Interesting indeed, might be the case of some teams asking on Picks and they want to have a better idea of what they got in Martin. They probably know they can't move Varly at this point.

Back to (potentially) meaningful commentary - I really enjoyed watching Martin play, he stepped in and looked confident, especially challenging shooters. Can't really blame him for any of the goals. First goal against was a backdoor dunk, second against was a pretty nifty tip from point-blank. Third goal he made a good first save and can't be blamed for the rebound; shots from the low slot by an NHL shooter who is wide open will seldom if ever have controllable rebounds (in fact they often go in).

Looking forward to seeing more of the kid.

Probably best to discuss here that O'Brien was called up. Barrie and Bourque on IR (why not Varly?).

O'Brien does allow them to not use LTIR and bank a touch.
