The only time the Bears had more than one coach in a season was back in the 40’s when they had co-coaches for 4 years while George Halas went to fight in the war

That is pretty crazy considering the Bears have had quite a few lean years in the last 8-9 decades
Yeah, Halas left after 5 games in 1942. That was it. And the Bears went 11-0 that year before losing the title game, so, maybe that’s the key.

Just need to have some geopolitical conflict to take them away.

Why isn't Shanahan getting heat? Why was Purdy playing yesterday he clearly wasn't 100 percent...

I doubt Lance would do much. Honestly was surprised SF didn’t run with Darnold. Short week with a QB in concussion protocol.
Whether it's Lance or Darnold, it's tough to win when your QB needs everything around him better.

Idk what they do.

Just shows how terrible a HC McDaniels and his staff truly are to have been blown out by this same Bears team.

BB would have eaten Bagent for breakfast, like he pretty much does to all rookie QBs.
He is lucky his owner is too cheap to fire him. Doesn't want to pay a guy for not working.

Never understood how he got another job after the Denver fiasco and what he did to the Colts.

Lions better not blow this tonight... The NFC North is your's for the taking... 2 teams are awful and the other one just lost their only hope to salvage this season. There is no excuse not to run away even more with the division now ...But much like my own team Detroit is not trustworthy in the slightest if history is any indicator.

Being cleared doesn't mean symptom-free...

These guys play through pain and used to utterly ignore concussions. Teams still have an incentive to put playing over health.
You have to be cleared by an independent neurologist, so, no, this doesn’t happen.

"Independent" just means no direct connection on the face of the relationship between team and doctor. Off-the-record communication is still open game and these teams have the resources to bend the rules.

Two, you can pass all of the tests but perhaps still suffer symptoms that do not get captured by the test. You can get scans, you can ask questions, but they can't ascertain everything. This applies to general results like blood work. You might just fine in your 30s eating junk food and the bad results don't become visible until 50+ years.

Dobbs did his job. Kept the team competitive while Murray was rehabbing and gave Tune time to learn the offense.

You’re suggesting two different things here. I’m not so naive to think that one of these independent neurologists doesn’t turn up dirty one day. But if they clear them, then they are cleared, and that’s it. The science isn’t perfect, but these doctors aren’t putting their careers on the line to clear players who should not be cleared since they’re among the very few people who the NFL needs more than they need them. You can’t arbitrarily decide someone has a concussion just because they aren’t playing well.

Especially when he didn't play very well the week prior to the concussion or the game where he got the concussion. Given his poor play prior to the concussion, I'd even say that means we shouldn't factor his play into his health at all.

Dobbs also had his short run of heroic efforts run out a few weeks ago. It's a shame. He's a good dude.
He's shown enough on tape to garner interest as a backup next season. He's not a regular starter, but with his run of 8 games under his belt, it puts him in a position to be a backup. No different than the likes of CJ Beatherd, Nick Mullens, who got starts in SF, but we nothing amazing, but they get the nod over a young rookie like O'Rourke in Jax and Hall in Minny. And in his case, Tune.

A+ tank move to bench Dobbs now since he theoretically should know the Browns defense since he was in their training camp.
