Talbot laid an egg, but this game is on our coaching staff for not teaching this team anything new since Nov. We're doing the same stupid breakout strategy and we fail to adapt. There are no in-game changes no nothing. We don't breakout as a team and it's because we're employing the same **** over and over again without any adjustments.

McLellan and co, this one's on you. Teach this team something new for once

Lol yeah McLellan told Nurse to spike it up the boards to nobody in particular.

Like that was as braindead a hockey play as you can get.

Of course he does. Talbot was no good tonight, but the whole team laid an egg defensively. From 30 seconds in when the Sekera/Russell pairing didn't recognize the Duck player behind them to Nurse with the idiotic rim around the boards to Drai and Eberle with soft giveaways right at the blue line.

Talbot was part of the problem definitely. But the team needs to refocus and clean up the mistakes they made tonight.

I expect a better effort from Talbot and the rest of the team on Wednesday. Extra day to get over this loss and look at where things went wrong and work on some stuff in practice.

Agreed, when you get scored on less than a minute into the game you just know things aren't gonna go well. Hopefully the whole team can set this aside and clean it up defensively.

It's like people have a little wheel in their place that they spin and it either lands on Talbot,Eberle,Nuge,Lucic or Mclellen and that's who they blame.

Why the **** is it the coaches responsibility when a player(Nurse) makes an absolutely bone headed play? You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

That play works. Was it the right time to use it? No. That's on the player.

Seriously? Everyone of our D-men have had this conditioned in their brains to do this all year long. It's nothing new. Where were the fwds to support the breakout better? This is rinse and repeat the same terrible breakout strategy we've been doing all year long. We've just been luck enough to outscore our problems. Not in the playoffs

Meh, Oil were due a bad game in this round; I figured it would be game 2.

Last time Talbot had a bad game, he won the next two - I'm not worried.

Oil in 5!

Nuge has shown that he has another gear in these playoffs.

Eberle.. hasn't.

Talbot, man, worst possible time to let in a softie.

He slapped it up the boards. Why the eff would you take a goddamn slapshot from behind your net?

It was a stupid play and he knows it.

If you have no Ducks along the boards and an Oiler at the red line to tip the puck its a great play.

Guys tend to just look at when it fails, but I have seen that play work out well numerous times this season.

Nurse did it at an absolutely brutal time though, Ducks player read it from a mile away.
