Really wish woodcraft would have called the officiating out after the last game but it is what it is. Oilers have carried the play and been the better team for the majority of every game, they need to stop blowing leads and be extra disciplined. Don't give the refs any excuses to give LA a PP. Korpisalo has been good but he is beatable. The most frustrating part about this series so far is that the kings have really not looked that good, and the oilers are beating themselves. Everyone needs to be better tonight, this is must win now

It's alright I think league is probably on high alert after Keefe's very well received soliloquy on how well the lightning manipulate the officials.

Toronto might be fighting the battle for us.

lol I had a similar thought. I do think that the amount of criticism in the media of the refs in this series in particular, and not just from Oilers fans, will make for a more balanced game tonight. The LA faithful in attendance are going to absolutely lose their shit if that's the case. Unreal entitlement in that arena last game.

Thanks! Beginning of Woodcroft's presser sounded like it was from a submarine with the poor audio. Believe he said Kane was off the ice today as a 'maintenance morning.' Little concerned about this player being banged up. The last 'maintenance day' guy report was Janmark who is not expected back in the series.

Kane is a vital weapon this team needs to help turn the tide.
Kane hasn’t been a vital weapon since his injury unfortunately

Kane hasn't been scoring but he's a force out there and the intimidation is huge

The noise about the reffing coming from many and not just oiler fans hopefully benefits the game but I was stunned at how the last game was called after the first two felt lopsided as well

I know the reffing thing is tired at this point, but I just took a look at the net penalties per 60 out of curiosity, and it’s unsurprising to say the least.

Regular season highest net penalties / 60 mins:
Buffalo at 0.53.

LA this series is at 2.18. The next highest team is at 1.33.

LA in our regular season series was at +1.25. So despite the playoffs being “when the whistles go away”, and the oilers being right around even over the entire regular season for net penalties, the kings are getting twice as many pp opportunities per game against Edmonton than they did in the regular season matchup, which was already quite high at +1.25.

Bettman and the refs have it out for the Oilers, but if this game goes in the Oilers favor as far as reffing, it's because Bettman doesn't want to make it too obvious
The a**hole biased zebras are the only reason this's not a 3-0 series for the Oilers, keep being sarcastic.

Oilers were the highest scoring team in the league for a reason. It's time to capitalize and break open that dam and build a big lead so that even bad reffing can't influence the final result. And Pissy Drai needs to be more mature and just focus on hockey, control his emotions and forget about the silly nonsense in between whistles.

The Oilers have been rolling since Kane came back from his injury in January. Even at 50 percent, Kane is still a very useful player that makes our team better.
Since he has come back compared to all our forwards he ranks 15 forwards
Corsi% 10th
GoalsFor% 15th
xGF% 14th
HDCF% 15th
Goals 2nd
Assists 12th

So he has been playing with McDrai the entire time and outside of goals he has been one of our worst forwards in most metrics.

Lol. Not true. Game 1 was lost cuz Bouchard croschecked a guy in the face. If he doesn't do that, the Oilers win. That wasn't the refs fualt, it was Bouchards...but you know, facts are hard

Cause only bad refs call cross sticks to the face. Only bad refs cause Nurse to forget how to play hockey on both game winning goals.

The whistles don’t go away in the playoffs, they sometimes change what gets more focused on but penalties lately if anything go up. This playoffs interference and stuff like that is mostly ignored and they are focusing on stick infractions. Also a 3 game sample size means that really doesn’t matter. I’m sure you could go find numerous 3 game sample sizes League wide that have massive differentials.

At the end of the day Edmonton has been a club that year long has been penalized a ton for stick penalties and we still haven’t learned which is troubling. Yes there are some things that aren’t being called the other way which is frustrating but it’s often in our own making.

Boys need to stop all the slashes, high sticks cross checks to the face as it’s been obvious ALL YEAR that the team is constantly short handed because of those specifically. At this point, just stop Oilers, stop taking them.

It's like a spectrum. On one hand, there are conspiracies about the refs and NHL that are obviously ridiculous. On the other hand, there are just straight-up boot-lickers who don't tolerate any criticism of the officials.
Oilers most penalized playoff team in the past 40 years.

Trailed by the rest of the Canadian teams:

But ya man. Totally JUST a coincidence that Canadian teams get called for more penalties in the playoffs.

f*** off and let us vent at the obvious match fixing.

Penalized heavily in the playoffs during the McDavid era:

The Oilers while “dominating” possession are not out scoring LA even strength.
McDavid doesn’t have a single 5v5 point.

Hyman, Yamamoto, Kane, Nuge have been either invisible or a liability.
Nurse has made major misplays on both game winning OT goals.

The reffing is only part of the picture and it’s the only thing some people are focusing on to the point where they are finding conspiracies and watching the same clips over and over and over to find more reasons it’s the “refs fault”. The refs are bad, they are bad league wide. Shit gets missed constantly. Tons of penalties have been missed on us too.

If the players are thinking the same way you and others are then this series is already over. All the players can do is adapt and overcome. If they Just spend all their time crying about the refs than this team is simply pathetic.

If this team is so much better than La like the advanced stats show then it’s time to have that reflect on the score board.
Are you new to hockey? Ever heard of a hot goalie? Switch goalies in this series, is LA still up 2-1 even in spite of the PP differential and BS reffing?

More penalized in the McDavid era:

Refs born in Ontario, Buffalo sits 3rd. Historic rivalry there too.

Hmmm.
