On the bright side, Westerlund has got to go now. A tournament in which we only beat Denmark and Ukraine. :shakehead

This is what you get with a roster full of cement-handed speedsters, who are not that speedy. But I agree, Westerlund has not convinced at any point.

Congrats to Russia. The better team won. The most skilled team in the world, absolutely great to watch.

Kharitonov.

That was the weirdest penalty shot I've seen in a while.. He beat the goalie so bad and then almost didn't know what to do. He waited for soooo long before letting go of the shot and then in the end he was almost past the net. :help:

Dammit, the mens we trusted blew it up.
Jokinen and Peltonen also Nummelin sucked really bad at penalty shot. Tought Peltonen sucked throught the tournament.

Russia was better, but Finland had few changes at overtime.

Well that's it for now, better luck next time. :jump:

Sigh.. Even I can't defend Bäcks.
That was worst shootout EVER! How can't he stop even one shot?
I think all of those russians did the same move to get past him. And Bäcks felled for all of them!

O. Jokinen doesn't deserve thanks either but he didn't lose this game for us, Bäcks did.

Hopefully we get new coaching staff next year. And a goalie who isn't that green.

Congrats to Russia though. I didn't see the game, but got the impression that the better team won.

See you in Olympics next year.

Goalies were even in this match. Sokolov was also very shaky. With better (more skilled) forwards Finland would have won.

Which ones were Finland missing? Saku, Teemu and Tuomo for sure.. anyone else?

Well, that's almost all we need. I hope that were going to find new Teemu and Saku soon. Tuomo isn't any goal scorer or play maker.

Lehtinen would also be big help and we can't forget Sami Kapanen. Even one of these could have made the whole team better, but we never know. We only know that now we had big troubles making the play or making the goals.

Sami Kapanen plus 6 of our top 8 or 9 defensemen. Finland just doesn't have the depth to deal with so many top guys missing. There wasn't enough skill to really compete.

Ok. How about a guy like Filppula? Or is he too young?
