You're absolutely right. He needs his own tag altogether. I vote for Russian Jesus.

The photo that accompanies the linked article looks very much like the same photo that SKA posted when they traded for Tarasenko last year. I have also seen no independent confirmation of this "signing" at Elite Prospects dot com, or anywhere else.

I'll believe he's in St. Petersburg when I see his name on an official scoresheet.

Any word on who caved on the issue that previously held the deal up? Basically, will Tarasenko be able to leave for the AHL, if he wants to.

JR reported that he'll return after the lockout...So, I'm guessing that means that Tarasenko's side caved. Which to me it makes sense that SKA and the KHL wouldn't want to accept a clause like that. They already hold uncertainty with the many NHL players they are signing. Why hold even more uncertainty to if those players will actually commit to staying at least the duration of the lockout?

He is on the team sheet, but he hasn't been on the ice. Looks like we'll have to wait until Monday.

...Is there a reason he was benched for the first two periods?

Tarasenko had only 1 work-out with the team, so Riha (coach) said he wasn't sure if he was going to dress him yet, or if he did he'd play as 13th forward.

But a goal on first shift, yikes!:handclap:

I guess the only reason he got any ice time today was because they were winning comfortably at the time. Understandable I guess. A goal in 3:09 of ice time isn't bad going!

Reason #43476 why the lockout sucks: I'd have attended Tarasenko's first NHL game in Denver Oct 11, but that's not going to happen.

Nose for the net, I like it. Hopefully Vladi gets to play with Kovalchuk ALOT. Well, if I'm in the business of hoping, hopefully this lockout ends soon and I get to see him wear the Blue Note :D
