Wow, apparently Vegas is getting Shea Theodore as long as they take Clayton Stoner in the expansion draft. I like Theodore a lot.

Also they are getting Alex Tuch from Minnesota. Those are some nice young players, I'm kind of jealous.

Anyone other than Mrazek they pick will end up playing the whole season in the minors. No one on the unprotected list is really NHL caliber (to anyone other than Ken Holland).

EDIT: I take that back. Mrazek and Nosek. If either one of them is picked, that would suck pretty bad. Other than that, dont care.

Helm and Ouellet on the minors...?

Ehhh... proably not.

They can't throw anybody on minors without a risk of losing them on waivers. You plan the picked guys for playing roster, or trade baits pretty much.

Lowers the probability of Helm taken.

true.

Seen on Twitter that PIT paid Vegas to take Fluery. Also a buddy of mine said there was rumors of a take Flower and trade him to PHI...would be crazy..but I wonder if they have interest in Mrazek? Would suck really bad to lose him for nothing, but I question his stay here in Detroit...and with Haula signing there, Helm really looks less interesting there. Maybe Nosek, but even then, unproven. Who could it be? XO?

My very thoughts as well, anybody other than those 2, fine by me.

Yup and that's pretty sad, Holland needs to go right now.
He's needed to go since about 2013, Blashill needs to follow right behind him for this franchise to have any hope of truly turning things around. :help:

Thought I saw something where CHI was keeping Kruger?

McPhee passing on Vatanen and Dumba to take Stoner/Haula +Theodore/Tuch is just awful, unless there's more to those trades that is some terrible gming in my opinion.

I disagree. He is building a future, while most likely putting together a team that could see post season hockey in the first season..

Florida must have really soured on Smith. Kinda wish we had the space to take Smith off their hands for the price of Marchessault.

No chance, and how is adding some prospects gonna help them win now? Vatanen and Dumba are both relatively young and definitely much better proven players. Haula is a solid 3c, Theodore is a very good D prospect, Tuch is a good but not great prospect, and Stoner is trash. He could have had two good proven NHL D who have lots of value.

Some people are seriously overrating how good Vegas will be in the first season, might not be a bottom feeder, but they're not gonna be good either.

Yeah, Vegas is going to be terrible next year - much worse than they could've been with a different approach. But I think it's pretty obvious they're going to see what they can make out of Leipsic, Nosek, Reinhart, et al while being a ****** team for a few years and nabbing some top prospects.
