Bummer! If DRWs suck bad enough, he'll probably waive his NTC

He might not. The Wings sucked last season yet he signed here for 3 years.

He could be looking for end of career stability more than competing for the Cup.

No it isn't. People are forgetting Daley was terrible in his last couple years in Dallas and was dumped by Chicago for nothing. He had one good year insulated on in an absolutely stacked Pittsburg team then reverted to his usual suck and injuries last year. Daley is not a good hockey player.

Aaaaaand he gets an ntc hahahaha

Yea if you wanna be hemmed in your own zone for his whole shift GirardI is better.

Who cares, 3 years dedicated to sucking then buddy. Picks

3 years of wasted cap space and contract when we're supposed to be rebuilding. Instead of acquiring pieces we can flip or young guys we can gamble on upside were signing a 34 year old busted up defenseman to a 3 year contract with an ntc.

Jesus. Complaining about both Witkowski and Daley deals? This is pretty much an optimal FA scenario for us. Short-term deals in an area of need where we have several guys on the way out. Changes nothing about our rebuild either.

There really is nothing to be upset about here.

I would like them to go after Grigorenko and be finished for the off-season.

Almost maximun tail-end deal on nowadays rules... lowest salary can't be less than 50% of highest salary.

That smells quite obviously "sign for 2,5 years and sell at the 2020 deadline deal".

Not the worst deal. He'll do a fine job replacing the **** defender that Kronwall has become. Just another 4/5 warm body.

At least he's better than the other 3m D signings today, so that's good I guess.

I like how the majority of players got signed to either a 1 or a 2 year deal, but Detroit inking a guy to 3 years with a NTC gets categorized as 'short term'.

he wont ruin the tank efforts, he will end up aiding them

he wont look nearly as useful as he did on the penguins
