Hes alright in the d-zone. He’s trash at helping the team score.

Are there not 5 (or 6, as we've been playing with 7 defenders a lot lately) other d-man spots in the lineup on a gamely basis?
Green will be gone and i'd bet they do something (LTIR or buyout) with at least one of Ericsson or Kronwall next offseason.

I still think he's just here for job security. He's already won two Cups, but knows he's not a great fit everywhere (cough Chicago). Not much left to play for except his retirement fund. Why not sign somewhere desperate for any warm body on the blueline where you can get some term and a nice NTC.
