Dermott=Finn

Any reason for this or?

I'm all for different opinions as to whether a prospect will do well or not at the AHL/NHL level... I also like the hear the reasoning.

Only similarity is they were both drafted by the Leafs.

Yup, and the usual BS goes with it. Due to his undersized his not strong on the puck, easily intimidate blah blah.

Well that just makes me shake my head. I guess they don't watch Erie games?
He hits pretty good for a small intimidated guy. Not bad in the corners either. Haha

A lot of talk about Marner (well-deserved) but let's not forget abut Dermott. He has 13 points in 10 playoff games, leading all defenseman in points. So far
.

12 games 13 points.

Thomas Chabot has 15gp and 19 points. Could be right for OHL I'm using CHL stats.

Travis Dermott = Bryan McCabe 2.0
Hope thats a jokes, can't see that one at all. I think if Dermott reaches his ceiling we are talking about a player who leafs drafted but gave up on, Anton Stralman. Very smart player who does everything well, but really doesn't have a trade mark skill like an elite shot or physicality. Really interested to see what he can do at the AHL level next year, in most of my viewings he never wow's me, but he also rarely makes a mistake. Hoping we give him solid top 4 minutes in the AHL next year, him and Nielsen are both very interesting prospects but for opposite reasons.

I think a Mark Giordano-lite is a better comparison for Dermott. I think Stralman and Dermott are pretty different, though it's a better comparison than McCabe.

Giordano has a better shot than Dermott, that would probably be his ceiling otherwise. In terms of his playstyle, he's most similar to Justin Faulk.

The Stralman comparison is outdated and pretty bad IMO.

Dermott had been voted to the OHL Second All Star team. Marner/ Tkachuk and Dvorak all made the first all star team.

? He was voted 3rd best center in the ohl behind two people in their draft +2 seasons. I didn't watch much of the otters or north bay but based on stats IDK how amadio was chosen ahead of him.
