Faulk isn't the reason we haven't made the playoffs. He's in a slump right before entering his prime years.

AA hasn't even reached 30 points in a season and sports a -13.
I'm always cautious with guys that have one great season and then struggle to repeat it. AA is a few years younger and less experienced, still establishing himself. Where as Faulk most likely "is what he is", AA could still find that consistency that is his biggest problem and become a 30+ goal scorer.

Where does this "one great season" thing come from with Faulk? Adjusted for time missed with injuries the last two seasons, he still produced on pace with his "one great season", even moreso for goals...

No, AA has been on the market for a while and never spoken of as a core piece.

That's not really true, AA has often been mentioned in the same breath as Larkin and Mantha by Wings managment/coaching staff. What proof is there he's been on the market for awhile?

Faulk.
One assist at 5 on 5 this year.
What's up with him?
3 goals and 1 assist at 5 on 5.

That's awful.
That makes old man Nik Kronwall on one knee look good.

There's been talk of AA being available for the right young D-man for at least 1 year. "on the market" doesn't mean they've wanted to get rid of him, just that he hasn't been the untouchable piece that Larkin and Mantha have been.

  Come on dude really? So AA whom had 29 points last season hasn't reached 30 yet are we really going to go there and he has 23 points as of now well on his way for 30 or more points this year. None of us here think that AA for Faulk is fair value but gee when you suggest a guy in like 67 games playing only about 10 minutes per night has 29 points last season gee just because he hasn't reached 30 yet Okay.

What would Detroit have to add to AA to make the deal?
Just can't see it happening. Detroit's not adding their first and AA is more of what we already have throughout the roster. Middle 6 talent. If anything the Canes should be the ones looking to package Faulk and a pick for an upgrade up front. AA isn't an upgrade.
