I think as fans....our number one goal should be to witness the Oilers win the lottery with someone elses pick to force another rule change.

That should be on par with a cup.

Oh man

Oilers trade Eberle to the Devils for 2018 1st, Devils win the lottery, Oilers pick 1st overall.

HF would implode in angst.

Edler is still only 31.. I actually thought he was older than that.

Likely has several decent years left. Next 2 years at $5 million. LHD though.

2nd will be included in a Eberle deal.

Or we will trade or 22nd pick for a late 1st + 2nd round pick.

That's my guess.

This seems possible.

Once you get to where the Oilers are picking there are a lot of options and if they can trade back a little and add a second that would be great.

If not, insisting on a second in any Eberle deal would be the way to go.

You have to think the Oil are looking to recoup a 2nd round pick in some deal

I agree. Its ridiculous we still have to pay the bruins a pick for a GM they fired and a rule the NHL abolished right after.
That being said, some exciting weeks are ahead now that the boring playoffs have ended. Time for me to turn on notifications for the known insiders on twitter

My dream scenario would be for Yamamoto to fall(due to size), Chia senses this and picks up a a late 1st and a 2nd for our 22nd pick.

It would be a dream to come out of the 1st 2 rounds with Yamamoto + Boqist/Matteos/Chytil

Possibly a trade with St Louis or Dallas?

MIN 2018 1st

MIN turns a late 1st into a bluechip prospect
and turns Dumba into a better + expansion exempt RD

CAR loses its first pairing RD and its 2nd pairing RD

The roster freeze from June 17th to 22nd is going to be so boring. I hate the expansion draft.

You might want to sit the next few plays out.

Edmonton trades Nuge, Puljujarvi and a 1st round pick for Faulk and a 1st next year?

How in your mind is this a good trade for the Oilers?

It is definitly awful trade. Oilers are good as team right now and they do not need to make big trades. They have to make right decisions just to improve curent roster.

What a terrible trade for us? Downgrade our draft choice, lose a top 6 center and a top 4 pick for an over-paid, over-rated dman.

Overrated yes, but I'd have to disagree with overpaid. 4.83M is a pretty good contract for a number 2/low end #1 Dman. That's a fair value contract even for a #3-4.

Shoulda just picked Faulk in 2010 instead of Pitlick.

I'd definately go all in on Faulk. Why not?

In hindsight the tree way is missing something coming from Minnesota. ...

But yeah....

It' a spicy proposal.

Don;t get me wrong, on poo poo ing the proposed deal. I think Faulk is a perfect fit here. Like his contract too.
