26 games, 0 goals. Fits in perfectly.

Say no to Clowe. Go Charlestown Chiefs instead... Seriously. Would be Funny if Sather did some crazy moves getting an entire Goon Line as a counter move. If you can't beat ' em, beat them. I would laugh to death

Oh well.

Their D is still suspect and MAF is hot 'n cold.

Not willing to declare anyone a cup lock, ever...they will definitely be the favorites heading into the playoffs, though.

Shero did a masterful job. Absolutely brilliant.

But, which Fleury shows up this year? Vokoun hasn't been to the play-offs since who knows when, if ever and it's the same defense save Murray that was a gong show against the Flyers.

It looks like Pitt will be facing NYR or NJ in the 1st round. Both Lundy / Brodeur are perfectly capable of killing off the Pens. Don't forget what Halak did against a stacked Pens team defending a Cup in 2010.

Lol @ all the 'hand the Cup' to Pens posts.

No such thing. Their D is still somewhat questionable and you cant exactly trust MAF.

I think I've only seen one rental deal of this type that actually had people thinking the team trading the player got a better deal, and that was the Kaberle trade in 2011, and ironically Boston won the Cup anyway. Why are people always so shocked that the ransom for a player whom you might only get 3.5 months (a likely less) of service out of isn't that great? I mean, if a 35 yr old, pending UFA, Gretzky can get traded for Vopat, Tardif, Johnson, 1st and 5th, is Agostino, Hanowski, 1st really that awful of a return for 35 year old Jerome Iginla?

Yeah, anyone remembering Colorado getting Kariya and Sellanne -- and unless I am misstaken -- had their worst season during that era, knows that this can disturb as much as it can help you.

But of course they are good.

There really aren't words for how much I hate the Penguins. Torts calling them dirty and arrogant is the best thing he's done here.

I would say that this is a horrible deal for the Flames, and that Jay Feaster has again proven that he has absolutely no idea what he's doing, but I don't want to upset the contingent of the board that gets so upset any time anyone suggests that NHL scouts or GMs don't know what they're doing.

Thankfully, people like Jay Feaster exist, and continue to prove that this is most certainly a real possibility. Poor Calgary.

So, since the lockout the Pens have been able to trade for Hossa, Neal and Iginla without really giving up much at all. I understand that it's easier to make a trade when you already have Crosby and Malkin so you can sacrifice some depth but how can they keep doing that when the only useful trade we've made is for Nash and it cost us half our depth?

We're talking about the guy who offer sheeted O'Reilly without realizing he was going to have to clear waivers. Reasonable people can disagree about the merits of our own front office, but I don't see anybody giving Feaster the benefit of the doubt here.

We started the year really thin up front, but it's the lack of production from Richards and Gaborik that has really buried us. Remember, Dubinsky and Anisimov both had down years offensively last season when we finished first.

Detroit was trying to win their 3rd straight Cup in 1999. They added Chris Chelios,Ulf Samuelsson,Wendel Clark and Bill Ranford at the deadline to win that year. Detroit lost in the 2nd round to the Avs.

Pittsburgh added 3 old guys. 35,34 and 33 year old players. They made their team slower. Iginla and Morrow. Too bad its not 2003. San Jose has looked better without Murray.

Pittsburgh needs a healthy Letang and Malkin. They need their goalie to be the guy from 2008 and 2009. If Fleury falters, the other guy doesn't have much playoff experience.

The cap is $70.2M. Teams didn't spend close to the upper limit. The Flames had their hands tied by the NMC. Iginla gave them a list of 4 teams. There was a deadline. They didn't milk it to 3pm on April 3.

And now the pressure in Pitt to win the cup just tripled let alone the chemistry dynamic.
Add that to the key injuries, getting older and MAF!
It'll be interesting.
