A thread partially dedicated to imaginative trade scenarios involving Ghetto and other waiver wire fodder that only have value cause they are in the Habs' org.

Also, anyone who is slumping is an immediate fake trade candidate.

MB, get us bigger players !

That team won't survive in the Playoffs with that size we have up front.

any of Lee, Clifford, King, Ferland... Call back MaCarron.

To Arizona:
David Desharnais
2nd Round Pick
Charles Hudon

To Montreal:
Martin Hanzel (50% Retained)

To Toronto:
Juulsen
Scherbak
Plekanec
1st Round Pick

To Montreal:
Nazem Kadri
JVR

JVR-Galchenyuk-Radulov
Pacioretty-Kadri-Gallagher
Lehkonen-Hanzel-Shaw
Byron-Mitchell-Danault

Emelin-Weber
Markov-Petry
Beau-Pateryn

Major shakeup but I don't really like the direction the team is going right now. This actually gives us some more size up front. Probably terrible but whatever.

To be honest if Patches, Plex and Gally can return mostly to form, all we'll really need is a top 4 D and maybe some depth from within or outside but we're really not that far off right now.

I think Bergevin will wait it out at least until the new year And going into February before there's really any attempt to trade. At that point he can see where we're at and if those 3 have rebounded or are in a year long slump or worse.

Until then it's fun to speculate but being in 1st place overall buys you patience and a lot of it.

Why would Arizona retain if we're giving them Desharnais for the sole purpose of salary?

In what world are we coming in front on the Hanzal deal ?

He's an UFA, always injured and far from being a star player... we give up Hudon and a 2nd ???

Yeah, no trade until after the ASG. I do think MB may try to pull the trigger on something before trade deadline. I do believe Patches and Gally will figure it out but Pleks I am not confident in... at least not in a 2C role.

Yeah, Strome makes a lot of sense. Hell I'd even bring back Vanek closer to the deadline.

Thomas Vanek - Alex Galchenyuk - Alexander Radulov
Max Pacioretty - Ryan Strome - Brendan Gallagher
Artturi Lehkonen - Tomas Plekanec - Andrew Shaw
Phil Danault - Torrey Mitchell - Paul Byron

How good does that forward group look? That first line would be insane, especially with Vanek on his natural wing with elite talents like 27-47.

Would the Canucks be willing to deal Brandon Sutter?

I know he signed a 5 year deal there last year, but the Canucks seem to have lost their direction and could be open to a deal for the right pieces.

I like the idea of picking him up and making him our second line center. He's signed to a good contract and has put up decent numbers in the past. He's responsible defensively and he's a young veteran.

To Montreal: Brandon Sutter

To Vancouver: 2017 1st round pick, Nathan Beaulieu and Charles Hudon

Not sure if that's close?

______ - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Pacioretty - Sutter - Gallagher
Byron - Plekanec - Shaw
Danault - Mitchell - Flynn

Emelin - Weber
Markov - Petry
Barberio - Pateryn

I don't know what's crazier, that you think Brandon Sutter could be a second line centre for any team in the league, let alone a contender or that you think he's worth a 1st rounder

I think the ship is leaving on Plekanec returning to form. At 34-years-old, he's probably on the offensive decline.

I can't even figure out what we need more: a top-six forward with size, a top-six forward with actual top-six skill (please no more guys like Byron, Danault, Mitchell, Desharnais, etc. in the top-six) or a top-4 LHD.
