I'm pretty sure the Oilers will use that 1st on a dman instead

Chia said he likes the dmen in the draft but would move the pick for a player already playing in the NHL that was an offensive dman.

He’s not moving it for a winger. He also said he’s happy with his winger depth ( :skeptic: )....so that means no to Patches for the 1st

When evaluating his players Bergevin is obsessed with esoteric things like "attitude" and "Ka-RACK-ter" when he should be focused on actual, quantifiable things like goals and assists. Personally I don't care if a player has a good attitude or not so long as he produces. Pierre Larouche had a terrible attitude and a mediocre work ethic during his stint with the Habs but he still scored 50 goals so nobody really cared.

Pierre Larouche's wife was incredibly ill when he was in Montreal, actually. No bad character, just a man worried about his woman. Problem in Montreal isn't transparency, it's so many rumors that are without substance, creates havoc for the team. IMHO!!!...:naughty::naughty::naughty:

Nurse, Klefbom, Sekera, Russell, Larsson, Benning.....Not sure another D is worth a 1st for them. They already have a lot of payroll on that D. I doubt they will trade their 1st.

He can't be happy with his wingers' depth since it's one of the worst in the NHL....

That’s what he said during his presser. He’s “happy with his winger depth”. He obviously doesn’t value wingers (as proof look at his stupid idiotic dumb trades of our wingers in Hall and Eberle).

His MO is always valuing C and D. He’s gonna blow his load on Karlsson and OEL and then knowing his idiocy lose them as UFA or sign them to ludricrous extensions that will put us in more cap hell.

Plus none of the dmen you listed have an offensive bone in there body. We had the crappiest PP because we had no puck mover (with Klef being hurt). It killed us. So he’ll try to over compensate by trying to get EK or OEL and like typical Chia fashion it will blow up in his face

The Cap is Oilers' biggest problem right now.
With the cap around 78M, that will leave the Oilers around 16M for 9 players including Nurse, Strome and Benning. Can't add without getting some contract off the book....that's where the Habs come in.

Who has the best potential to bounce back from an awful season ? Price or Patches ? Trade the one you are expecting the least.

Price will be better bUT he needs to work on his mental game....not to let a goal get into his head where they just keep popping in...happened last year and when he first got into the NHL

Price.

Patches had a bad year because of no PMDs or Rads to feed him. What will change there ? So expect the same from Patches.

Forget oreilly he earns 7m

Go trade for jankowski and sign Tavares

6M in real money, I believe -- 7.5M Cap hit, actually, for another 4 years. The term of that remaining cap hit might actually make it easier for MON to trade for O'Reilly, especially with the Sabres' relative depth at C and the Jack Eichel 10M Cap hit kicking in next year

Just so you guys are aware Ryan O’Reilly takes the most face offs in the league and wins like 60% of them so it will fix our face off percentage. He’s also an excellent two way player and is suited to be 2nd line Center. Then if we land Tavares? The offensive #1 Center will be fixed. Then Dahlin will also fix our lack of puck moving defenseman.

ROR is a stud. He’s wasting away in Buffalo but that doesn’t take away his skill. He could be a Selke winning centre. Easily a top line centre in the NHL. Even if we don’t win the Tavares sweepstakes, a 1-2 of ROR and Stastny etc. would be a an infinite upgrade of what we have right now. If we did sign Tavares and had Tavares-ROR down the middle, we’d be a top 5 team and instant contender.

Ryan O’Reilly is like a level below Patrice Bergeron. Hope Buffalo is stupid enough to accept Alex Galchenyuk and 2nd lol Eichel and Middlestad are their future at Center.
