Why can't Folin play opposite of Dumba? I get that they're both right handed but one of them could make it work. If not, there's still even handedness if you look at all six (L's Suter, Brodin, Scandella. R's Spurgeon, Dumba, Folin).

Suter-Brodin
Scandella-Spurgeon
Dumba-Folin

Suter-Spurgeon
Brodin-Dumba
Scandella-Folin

I still love that Spurgeon, Brodin, Scandella, Folin and Dumba are all 25 or under. The defense is set for a long, long time.

With Zucker basically done for the season, does Fletcher now have to look at getting another goal scorer at the deadline?

Yeah, I don't think we can afford to give up much. Even though our team is pretty much set for the next few years, we still need to restock our league-worse AHL team, so I don't think giving up mid-level prospects and 2nd round picks again is a great idea at this point.

Well with Zucker out for 3 months and Cooke and Carter out for a month or more what about adding a player like Steve Bernier and or Scott GOmez from the Devils I think they'd come fairly cheap and are both UFA's at seasons end. Bernier contract is 600K and Gomez 550K so neither would cost us too much and I'd say somewhere between a 5th or 7th for either.

We could probably use a player who's good on the PK as three of our top four PKers are out.

I might be one of the few who thinks we may look for a depth player. As long as the price isn't ridiculous, than I am ok with it.

There are options if the price is not too high.

Antoine Vermette-there is a bit of interest and Arizona is going to try to get as much as they can for him.

Mike Santorelli-Might be an option.

Chris Stewart-Not my favorite choice but he has some size and is available.

Michal Ryder-He has been a healthy scratch in NJ so the price may not be too high.

Jaromir Jagr-Would he want to play here?

I think Schroeder shows signs of being a replacement for Zucker. I've more or less given up on Haula improving this year. Whatever is wrong with him doesn't show any signs of going away.

Chris Stewart would be nice, but Buffalo would want a premium. He's had 17 points in the last 23 games.

Everybody wants a premium at the deadline it's like having to buy a HDMI cable at Besy Buy;you're not doing it so much as because you want to but because you need to.

Nino moves up, the bottom 6 is filled from within.

That doesn't address the loss of scoring,You are just moving a Nino, who has been productive up to a higher line, where he may not be as productive.I agree with filling from within in a lot of circumstances but not this one.Nobody that we call up is going to be able to add production even close to equal of what we have lost with this injury. That would be o.k. if it were only 3-4 weeks but with the playoffs looming and not a sure thing that production is going to be needed.

A place.
We really could use a PK specialist. Those are usually 4th liners so we should be able to get one for not a whole lot of investment.

I would like Santorelli too. The games i have seen from him he's been really impressive. Cost might be too high though.

We have little depth and no 2nd round pick next year or 3rd round this year. Minnesota should sit tight, call up some of the youngsters and pray.

I don't think Fletcher gives up our 1st or 2nd this year unless something ridiculous comes up like our 2nd+Keränen for Yakupov or something stupid like that.
