Holloway doesn't have a contract.

It's also not a great idea to be burning a year for what likely ends up being a handful of games seeing limited ice-time.
Yea but on the flip side you can lock him up at a cheaper AAV earlier in his career before he breaks out.

At the end of the day, better GMs get things done. The lesser ones say "can't, couldn't" until that "can't, couldn't" becomes "I can't find a job with an NHL franchise anymore".

That's how it goes. Holland has a lot to prove this off-season. A lot.

Say what you want about Dubas, but that motherf***er seems to get a shit ton done with little/no cap room constantly.
Getting deals done does not does not make someone a good GM. Anyone can get deals done. Washington got a deal done today. They got absolutely bent over a barrel. But great work there. They got a deal done. Restraint is just as important or else you send two first round picks for an AHL defender. All in the name of getting a deal done. Give me a break.

Now let’s see if the Hall curse follows him to Boston. They’re just hanging on the 4th in the division. Imagine if they get passed by NY or Philly and then they win the lotto.
Taylor first over hall baby, hes an impact player. Like a rock thru your windshield.

Its been a beautiful walking on sunshine sorta day, took a lil float on a river of loser lover tears. So fn fun .

It’s an enticement to get him to sign, rarely do college FA, or any outside NHLers who are RFA, come without it. See Sorokin last year in NYI, didn’t even play a game to burn a year, as it allows them to get to the second contract quicker. If he’s on the fence it’s a good tool to pull out. Holland said anyways he’s hurt till end of April with his broken thumb, and he’s not pushing a decision but has told Holloway he would like him to turn pro

Obviously you have to acquire decent players but time is also finite.

It shouldn't take 2 years to get even one functional forward past Archibald.

who wanted out and Holland convinced him to come back

Fair enough but when assessing Holland's actual player acquisition skills with forwards, it's been quite mediocre thus far.

Even in Detroit during those last years how many good players did he aquire via trade or signing?

Because we don't have 3-4 years to sit around waiting for draft picks to develop.
