Kid is getting points but dare I ask what is his +/- for each of his games?
Liljegren has been on the ice for 3 ES goals against - one of them was an EN - in 4 games. As he has also been on the ice for 3 ES goals for, he is at 0.

was just checking the marlies gamesheet for Game 5; anyone know why Timmy didn't play?
This.Didn't they play 3 games in 3 games. It's common to AHL to sit players. Believe the Marlies are going with 8 Men, so their will be some rotation.
I agree he has NHL skills but from what I saw he needs to adjust to the NHL game and ice size, so imo it's about how quickly he makes that adjustment.Just an FYI for all on here. He was kept in camp the whole time to see if he was ready right now. We need an upgrade at the Right D position as Carrick struggles and it is plain to see.
He will likely get his chance after the World Jr or sooner if Babs thinks he is ready. They are watching his development very close and he has not been sent to the AHL to percolate as some seem to like that term. He has NHL skills right now and do not be surprised if he gets called up to practice with the team a few times in the next month or so.
The notion of him needing to be an impact D man before playing in the NHL is simply not how things work. Highly skilled players play in the NHL when they are ready and that is sooner rather then later when the need arises. Carrick will seriously need to pick up his game to stay all year.

He wasn't kept in camp to see if he was ready right now, Babcock said from the get go he was keeping a huge roster right up until late in camp. He wasn't in the mix at all, as evidenced by how much he played after the first couple games. Isn't a knock, but he would have been cut well before the end of camp if Babcock hadn't decided to keep two full teams, two sets of D. Just saying. I'd add it was pretty obvious even at the rookie camp that he wasn't a serious consideration this year, which is fine. Going to be fun watching him develop this year.Just an FYI for all on here.
