Haha I actually know more people who care about the Rays here than the Lightning. I know a lot of people who are fans of other teams too. The Phillies Spring Training facility is fairly close to here, then there's the Jays up in Dunedin, which isn't too far from me. There's also the Yanks facility in Tampa. There's a lot of Yankees fans here (like my best friend), but they're also transplants, also like my best friend.

We get pretty cheap tickets for the Rays when the Yankees come to town though. He usually brings the whole family and we take two vehicles and go. It's a pretty cheap night out. I'm not big on domed ballparks, so I don't care much for Tropicana Field. Love going to Citifield when I'm up home visiting in August and Coors Field in Denver when I visit out there every August.

And just like the Panthers games (and even the Lightning games, but to a smaller extent), The Trop is filled with Yankees fans when they come to town.

The Rays just had a game with less than 1,000 people in the stands  Wish I had people to visit in Jersey so I could go to a few hockey games every year but I lost touch with everyone up there due to moving before the social media age.

Just saw that clip of Stevens breaking down what Severson did wrong last night, god he should be the defensive coach. Nasreddine is terrible. Him and Ward need to be gone in the off season. The PP cost us a game, and Nasreddine's shit PK in the first two games, and his shit defensive strategy, has cost us 3 games in the series. The PK has gotten better, but at times it still was an adventure.

The clip they showed of Severson being weak on the Kucherov goal showed just how pathetic our defensive strategy is. slap the puck at the boards and hope for the best. Oops, didn't get it out. Spend 30 more seconds in the defensive zone, gotta ice it now. Okay, lets come back try it again. Spend another 30 seconds in the defensive zone, try and clear it, nope, stuck in the zone still. Penalty!
Clear the zone, oops, icing yet again. Come back do it all again. Can't clear the zone again, goal against.

It's hard to buy into the whole "supportive" and "brotherhood" aspects we keep hearing this team talk about when they just let their linemates get wrecked all the time and do nothing about it.

Hall kneed attacked by Burrows. Greene just watches in awe. Hischier speared, nothing said to Hedman, no hit thrown on him next time he touches the puck, no cross check. Hischier had to bark at him. Vatanen lit up, nothing. Lovejoy killed twice in game 2, nothing.

Boyle dumps Kucherov, Wood gives him a shove in the face, gets a penalty and he just died after that. No edge to his game. Kilorn hits Lovejoy from behind, some response, but then nothing during actual play, no hard forcheck with hits. Just constant stick checks against a mobile defense and fast team that moves the puck fast.

basically - when two legit beat writers state it, then it's all but confirmed

Yeah thanks! Just got home and hadn't heard anything. That's really not surprising. I actually didn't think the hit was that bad.

Next season in the playoffs I think this team will flip a switch. This is a good lesson for them. Can't be concerned with taking penalties.

I didn't realize how dirty TB plays the game til this series.

Lots of stick work and hits from behind.

They don't play that way in the regular season. They learned to play this way in their last playoff run. It's what we will learn to do for our next playoff run.

I hope we don’t learn how to spear players in the nuts, take runs at players, and sneak headshots that could threaten careers.

I'm not saying we need to go bonkers, but you can't be afraid to take penalties. You have to get under the other teams skin and take them off their game. If you take a couple penalties, it is what it is. Kill them off and move on.

We don't though. Would it be nice? Yeah. Should we be focusing on giving him a huge contract? Nope. We need at least 4 good Dmen to be any sort of contender. That is where we must focus the effort.

All I'm saying is that if we have the chance to nab Tavares, WE DO IT without a second thought. We can focus on 'D' any other day of the week.

But Tavares's don't grow on trees. :sarcasm:

Reality is we need a top pair Dman and a 2nd line center. Now if Tavares is available, you load up the truck to try to get him.

Honestly I imagine they feel they can still address center internally, so D will be THE priority with budget scoring depth depending on what happens with Grabs and Maroon.

Doesn’t mean they won’t send JT a legit offer but if he passes I doubt we go hard on trying to get another center.

They aren't tough. The Devils just are playing like cowards at this point. That's a huge difference. Like I said, as soon as anyone actually showed some grit and responded, Kucherov didn't dare try to do anything to Wood and got out of that scrum very fast. Stralman backed off Coleman when popped in the mouth.

None of them on Tampa actually want to deal with having to stand up for their dirty ****. The Devils are just letting them walk all over them, and I wouldn't be shocked iff the dip**** behind the bench just told them play your game, ya know, the same game that had them trailing and getting ran left and right.

Well I think this reply is more to the point. Whether Tampa is tough or not is not our problem or concern for very much longer. The fact that the Devils are definitely NOT tough most certainly is.
