Speaking of concept albums @S E P H, I finally came around to listening to Metropolis 2 in its entirety, and it's pretty solid. Requires actually listening to it though, which I'm not used to.
It's not a perfect album, but the attention to detail is quite absurd on some of those songs.

I remember I was watching a Portnoy drumming video about how they made this part in "Fatal Tragedy". Here at 1:00 you can hear the drum fill go down from 4 cycles (whatever they're called), to 3 cycles, down to 2, to one, short piano solo, and then they build it up again from 1 to 4. It's amazing when you see the creativity behind the technical parts.

And of course you got the monster in "The Dance of Eternity" which I won't even get into (fun to play though)...

Scenes From a Memory is my favorite Dream Theater album, but it's definitely an album you need to listen to all in one sitting. I'll put it on for long car rides or when I'm writing something, it's just masterpiece.

Dream Theater can be hit and miss with me, about half their albums don't really move me, but the other half are awesome.

Woof, last night's episode was rough. Lots of drinking, two strong willed women competing against each other and a long night of existential conversations until 7am.

Met a bartender who spoke Japanese, made plans to go to an Absinthe bar with the dominatrix and met an Avs fan waitress who just got back from Colorado.

Anybody who knows anything about these kinds of things have an opinion about Firefox vs Chrome? I am thinking about switching over to Firefox from Chrome because of privacy.

Chrome is better in use. I don't care if people see my porn as long as they're far enough away.

Chrome is a CPU hog but I still find it functions better than Firefox, for me at least.

The google tracking stuff is just a product of what the internet has become. At this point there is pretty much nothing you can do about it if you use the internet in a normal way.

I saw a commercial the other day for a military grade VPN, which I thought was kind of funny.

New Arrested Development is... pretty much the same as season 4. Some isolated funny stuff overshadowed by a plot you have to spent way too much effort keeping track of because it jumps around way too much. It's actual kind of exhausting keeping up with it. It really takes all the fun out of it.

You know, I've lost a lot of interest in the Star Wars series and have yet to see VIII, and I have no interest in the Solo movie, but the Boba Fett movie could be cool. I don't love the spin off cash grab plan that doesn't really add much, but Boba Fett is a cool character so it could be entertaining. Thoughts?

You're missing out if you opt not to see the new Solo movie. I went in with zero expectations and ended up really liking it. I was very underwhelmed by Last Jedi though. It turns out that Lawrence Kasdan played a bigger part in making the original trilogy click than I thought. He and his son wrote this latest film.

I'm wary of a Boba Fett film. A lot of times when you peel the mystery of a character you ruin the mystique of said character. Lucas showed us more about him in the prequels but for some weird reason answered a whole bunch of questions we really didn't want answered. Most SW fans are curious as to where the hell the armor came from, and maybe why he never, ever takes it off. I could see them screwing it all up though...Boba Fett is one of those characters who has built up a huge fan following even though he didn't really do all that much on screen.

That kind of thing could very well happen. He (along with Maul) is an awesome underutilized villain, and when they finally take a closer look at Boba, they ought to be careful not to ruin what made that character what it is now. For some reason it's a trend in the Star Wars films that they create awesome moments and go "oh well, here's the main story again".

Darth Maul was the best villain (outside of Vader obviously) in a SW movie, by far.

Also, moving sucks. Especially when you're moving from a small space into a van. Downsizing this much is tough.

Hollywood’s going to kill SW like Marvel has killed superheroes. 2-3 movies per year until people are absolutely drowned in it.
