Bio from last yearThe Leader-Post - Dec 11 said:"Reid is that rare bird, a young fellow who emphasizes defence and works at it," says North Stars' coach xxx. "Nowadays a defenceman doesn't get much chance to hit, but Reid has fine anticipation and gets in his share of shots."
Reid agrees he enjoys scoring goals just like any other player. "But to me the ultimate in satisfaction is preventing a breakaway, overhauling a rival and taking the puck off him before he can draw a bead on our goalkeeper."

Dave Hannan was an average player in many respects. Yet he was one of the most valuable and unheralded players on every team he ever played on.
"Hanner" was an average skater and puckhandler. He liked to play a physical game but because of his size limitations, he wasn't the most effective hitter out there. Yet he played bigger than he actually was. Hannan was a good faceoff man and penalty killer, with a knack for defensive anticipation.
Rarely makes mistakes in the defensive zone. Displays a mature game with the right attitude and is capable of playing in any game situation. Is plenty mobile. Quality puck-moving, big-minute defenseman.
Yuri Shatalov was a steady Russian elite league blueliner of the 1970s. Style wise, he was rather a reliable solid player in his own zone than a spectacular offensive defenseman. He wasn't a slick skater or a speedy zone-to-zone runnner. Shatalov's specialty was mostly physical play and shot-blocking during the opponents' attacks. He was quiet often assigned to neutralize specific players of the opponents' team.
Yuri Shatalov was a defensive defenseman who is one of the few Soviet players during the "robotic" era who could have his style of play described as "full of heart." He was often used against the other team's top players because of his defensive play and his first-step quickness.
Shatalov was captain of the Soviet club team Krylja Sovetov, but never became a regular on the national team.
Perhaps he never became a regular on the national team following an unusual event in Soviet hockey that occurred in 1973. Shatalov attacked an opponent on the ice. It was a routine thing in Canadian hockey, but very much frowned upon in Soviet hockey.

Potential Problem:
ResilientBeast picked Valeri Bure in today's single-A draft about 12:28 p.m.
HobNobs also picked him in today's double-AA draft about 5:24 p.m.
Who lays claim to him?
Should be HobNobs. ResilientBeast did pick him first but he picked him in a later draft than HobNobs.
No one has add/dropped nor asked about it. So, it's easy to make a rule before that happens: If anyone really wants to make an add/drop before Monday's regular season voting then do so by Sunday night at midnight, and none of the Single-A draft picks made before that add/drop are eligible. That solves that.
1. The Double-A draft was officially finished but Hobnobs had two picks he had missed. If we're silly enough to have two drafts going at once, then first guy to take him gets him. Valeri Bure belongs to beast.
I agree it's completely on hobnobs for not completing his team on time. But let's be honest, this happens in every mld, AAA, and AA. At this point we should expect it. It's not usually a problem, though, because we haven't ever gone and started another draft by the time the stragglers finish up.
I live in South Korea and stay up until MIDNIGHT local time (10am eastern 14 hours earlier eastern). I also emphasize on the boards and in PMs to PM a shortlist if one cannot pick.Doesn't Hobs live in Sweden? About a 5 or 6 hr time difference, making it a little tougher for him to pick?
