Also, why didn’t Jacob just tell them everything about Ghost Island but say he lost the 50/50 game? And say the punishment was not being able to compete in the first individual immunity.

It shows your ‘honesty’, gives them a reason to keep you around, and you can then work on trying to flip the vote.

And I’m not sure he’s a super fan. Any Survivor fan knows the when the people around you know or suspect you have an idol, they will force you to use it.

Creating a fake one just screws your self

i have to wonder if "super fan" is code for, "i watched all the videos casting gave me."
he could have said anything but "i have an idol, but i forgot the clue"

VERY good season premiere. Like all the back stories from the mess ups and their idols or advantages.

BTW, why did that idiot tell the guy he had an idol and think he fooled him because he showed him a fake one? Hey moron, you showed him the page so he knows you have a real one, whether it was the one you're holding or not.

It was scary how similar that guy was to Seth Rogan.

That "kid" is 18? Wtf he looks 28.

Oh, and Libby is a complete smokeshow, hopefully she stays till the end. We need good eye candy.

Hate Stephanie. Just really rubs me the wrong way, and what's scary is she dominated the double episode, constantly on the screen. Unfortunately I think she'll go deep. Argh.

But good start I agree. It's early but huge fan of Wendell and Chelsea, while a few others seem pretty cool. I even like Dom!

Don't really like Chris and Brendan not sure about.

Good eye candy in Libby and Jenna isn't bad. Gonzalez was pretty hot shame she left first up.

Jacob...what an idiot. Goodbye. Just annoyed he let Stephanie get an advantage because a girl was actually paying him attention.

I liked it, but HATED the BS with the first boot. I refuse to call her by her last name. Her getting up and starting to whisper seemed like it was all for show, almost like she knew she was a goner.

YOU ARE THE DUMBEST LINK.. GOOD BYE (with Jacob away)

Jacob was a terrible player

And I can't say I'm a fan of this recent trend of getting up during tribal and whispering. Becoming a thing now...

I think his long game is to eventually give Chris the fake idol so he tries to play it.

It's not a great plan.

Yep too early, not a fan of that.

Survivor changed due to their own socialist engineering. They coddle the contestants and try to help them survive poor decisions and play. This has resulted in two things.

The first is that "the provider" is gone. Gone are the days when people who fished or were good hunters or gatherers were kept in the game for these skills. When you get boatloads of food at the beginning with pizza and hamburgers every day food isn't so important.

The second is "winning challenges" isn't so important anymore. The athletic ones that survived the beginning are no longer relevant. If you vote them off when you lose, thus weakening your tribe, then it is a better strategy. Get rid of all the strong at the beginning, Survivor will just mix up the tribes as soon as the challenges outcome becomes predictable.

To the above, this is exactly why I said that I hope they don't do any early tribe swap... But of course they do it anyways.

But at least theyre really limiting the food this year. Still surprises me how people don't know how to do slide puzzles, takes about 5 mins to learn the method to solve them quickly.

I'm not sure if it showed for sure that tribes are going from two to three, but as soon as I saw there were 20 players, I figured the swap to three tribes at 18 was a given. Like I said, I'm not sure that's what they're doing, but I suspect it is.

I still don't really understand how they're going to incorporate past bad decisions though. I understand the legacy advantage and the idols being burned, but how can they recreate Eliza, Randy, Jay, etc using fake idols...That's not really something they can recreate without creating a fake idol themselves and planting them. Or Erik giving away his idol to Natalie, how can they use that? Anyone have ideas?

As soon as Jacob told that girl the truth about the idol, I laughed and said to my wife, well I guess we just got the first instance for "Ghost Island 2".

I think Steph will go far, but not win. Kind of like a Wentworth style run.

Imo the legacy advantage wasnt really a curse. Sure one person made a mistake telling someone, but it was also the reason why another person won. Without it, Sarah gets voted out that tribal.

Also, Morgan is probably f***ed now. Steph knows she has it thanks to Jacob.

It’s not about recreating the actual situations.

It’s about using the exact idols the previous survivors used poorly, in the hopes that the current survivors make better decisions.

As for the fake idols, I’m sure some will be hidden, and maybe some on ghost island, that a survivor can give to another survivor in hopes of them making the mistake of trying and using it

So many confusing things in that episode.

I don't even know what to say about James. Looking at the intro videos and the bios and whatnot, I thought he stood out as the favorite with what looked like a complete game, and then this shit happens? Is it a mental block? Is he physically unable to dive underwater? So confusing. If he's physically unable to dive underwater, that isn't just a "well, he had a bad challenge so let's get him out", that's a chronic problem that would affect most challenges. If it's a mental block, it may be even worse.

Jacob played the most chaotic game I've ever seen. Honestly couldn't tell if he was being sincere or just trolling.

The Dom idol bluff seems really poorly thought out. I get wanting to have someone trust you, but the perception of him having a fake immunity idol doesn't matter when you actually have a real idol. Just seems like it's going to be a backfire.

Yea, bad move. He should have waited a couple of days and then "find the idol".

The first episode of this season was better than the entirety of the shit sandwich that was last season.

Good casting, decent theme and game play additions... has the potential to be a great season.

Donathan sounds like Jeff Sessions lmfao. I like the guy though, hope he sticks around.

BTW did anyone just LOL at the fact that big buff Korean dude couldn't go a few feet underwater. Did he not know there will be water on Survivor?

As for James not being able to dive well, coming from a black dude who is decently athletic but is almost allergic to the water... it's not as simple for some of us. I can sympathize

That "kid" is 18? Wtf he looks 28.

Was thinking the same thing. They must be feeding kids something different these days.
