Does GG sub Carrier for Reaves? That would be an interesting move in light of the possible nullification of a possible Tom Wilson effect....

I wonder which gambling addict placed the $5K bet at 200-1 odds of Vegas winning the Stanley Cup in September?

Different team, less size overall. No Buff, no Myers. Just occasional nonsense from Wilson doesnt warrant a full time hitter. Then again 4th line was playing quite well last couple of games so my guess is Carrier sits unless it proves not to be so effective.

There are always gamblers, but the chance of one being a hockey fan are still low.

The chances that he is someone who has actually followed hockey and its development long is non-existent. A true hockey fan understands that this should not have happened. Even if you personally knew the potential in all these players... still no.

I could see Carrier coming in for Carpy. Carpy has been extremely quiet this postseason.

Is there a big difference in CF between the two? I feel like Carrier is a hitting machine, but Carp is a better grinder/puck possession player. Nosek hasn't been that good (exception of that one goal) and I really liked Nosek at times in the regular season so he could be out too. I am really curious to see who plays and the match ups in game 1.

Just because a player isn't "playing like he did in RS" doesn't mean he isn't playing to the best of his ability.

This time of year, the players are dealing with a lot of accumulated bumps and bruises of the RS and post season. I'm often amazed at the list of injuries guys are playing through. E.g., literally skating on one leg (as the acl/mcl on the other is "gone"/torn, etc.); separated shoulders; broken ribs; fractured bones (feet, hands), etc.

Turk may not be interested in replacing a guy unless the next guy up is able to do better.

Note that Subban is so hurt that he's not even skating with the main team (if he's skating, it's with the black aces).

Today is Stanley Cup Media Day. So expect a lot of coverage. (NHL Network often carries stuff but today's DVR schedule just shows "NHL programming" as the topic all day. But website has media day starting at 9am PT until 4pm PT.)
