We know who the top 2 centers are. This leaves Tereschenko, Anisimov and probably Burmistrov. We are not swimming in center options.

And Svitov and Shipachyov and... Actually our lacl of centers makes room for speculation. I'd even go with 5 centers, the 5th being the 13th forward. We could play a center the wing if needed and/or have a specialist to insert for certain situations PK/faceoffs.

Sounds okay.

Regardless, Tereschenko is the best option for PK and third line duties, as you say. I don't see anyone better for these responsibilities.

Curious Jets fan here.

Burmi has mentioned his desire to make the Olympic team repeatedly. I know he was definitely a long shot going into the season, but I am not sure if that has changed. How much has his play in the KHL helped his cause? His defensive play and PK ability could be an asset to the team and he seems to have found some scoring touch.

Like the kid, would like to see him make the cut. Does he have a legit chance?

He has definitely improved his play this season and therefore his chances to make it, but I'd still say he's currently NT's 5-th center behind Malkin, Datsyuk, Anisimov, Tereschenko (and we shouldn't forget that Popov is also capable of playing center), so I wouldn't bet any money on it. :)

I'd say he is much better than Anisimov so far, so, he has everything to make the team:)

He has a chance only in case of injuries to at least 2 centers in front of him. There are just better, more exerienced guys in front of him and with Datsyuk and Malkin on the team he's basically competing for 1 centerman spot on the 3rd line, the 4th line center probably being a much bigger shut down guy in Billyaledtdinov's world.

Let's skip all unnecessary formalities - I don't know anything about offence and cant judge of that:D

If you don't want to give your claim any foundation then why are you claiming one player is better than the other? Let's flip a coin to complete the roster and that's it.

I just don't want to argue with you, because the only thing I hear from you - "you know nothing and can't judge of that'':D

well, in case of these two players i may as well flip a coin and be done with them.
It's often coinflip:) Sometimes Popov-Perezhogin are better than Ovechkin-Semin:)
But considered Anisimov vs Burmistrov I guided with follows.
Anisimov has 8 p in 22 games - 5 g, 3 a. Burmistrov - 23p, 7g, 16a in 28 g. Burmi is leader in AK Bars in scoring, while Anisimov is only 8th in Columbus. Burmistrov is 16th in points and 11th in assists in all KHL and I won't even bother to find what plase Anysimov takes in NHL. Last WC Anisimov played in our team and looked not that good. This year I watched him in 1,5 games and was not impressed - he didn't play very bad, didn't play very good - just nothing special, average player (yes, I know, he is very talanted, but he doesn't play even on 75% of his abilities). Considering, that last year he was Columbus top-9, even top-6 and now he is in the 4th line, I'm not the only one who is dissapointed with him this year. On the opposite side, Burmisrov looked very well on EHT (to my mind). About it he played in 3th NHL line, and I read (never whatched, though), that he was good defencively in NHL. That's why I think that he is better so far. But we have time, for sure:)

Perhaps worth noting: Burmi played some LW and RW in Winnipeg. He actually spent a lot of time playing beside Nik Antropov - they switched positions often.

How many of you will be in Sochi? Would you be interested in an hfboards meeting for those who will be there. Would be incredible to watch and discuss with the creative minds of the folks behind these usernames lol.

If he has a chance it will be at center. There are more than enough wingers for Russia.

Also should be noted, Burmistrov was a very very good shutdown guy despite not being "big"

His big weakness in this regard are faceoffs. If he is to be the shut down line center he hasto be good at faceoffs. And the fact Stapleton takes the most faceoffs on their line speaks volumes.

Pretty much this. And it puts him on par with Svitov. Burmistrov has more offensive upside for sure, but Svitov is the big shut down faceoff PK specialist. It basiacally will be the coach's choice.

Russian player agent Dementiev thinks that the lack of suspension for the player who injured Datsyuk is a signal that the NHL will turn a "blind eye" of Russian olympic team players being deliberately injured before the olympics.

Yeah but in the same region (more or less). This isnt the first time terrorists has killed People in Volgograd. Im only concerned nothing else. We all know that the Olympics will be a target for terrorist Groups. I heard from Norwegian media/newspapers that one of the bombs went off before the Security check? What are they gonna do about that in Sochi?

And Putin says alot of Things. Words are just Words. We need action.
