Xabi announces he’s staying at Leverkusen. Despite all the speculation about Bayern or Liverpool (or Madrid), I always though it made sense for him to stay for at least one more year. He’s young, the opportunities at “big” clubs will come, but he’s built something special at Leverkusen and why not see it through at least for a CL run. And (assuming no catastrophe this season) try to defend the Bundesliga title next season.

I think he will manage Madrid next but eventually will end up at Anfield. Following a legend like Klopp is not an ideal career move and there will be so much pressure. Plus if they can keep their team together they can win the Champions league.

I think the chances of keeping the team together just went up significantly with this announcement.

Two late wins, I’m kind of drained already and there is still the Phillies and Flyers yet to come today. Some drinking may be in order.

So @Striiker , explain to me how this curse thing works. Should I be rooting for or against Bayern?
I don’t know how your luck works so I’ll leave it to your best judgement.

Also I won’t be looking back at this for a while because I can’t watch the game until later so I’m staying away from the internet to avoid spoilers.

Hey, I'm pretty good at this. I mean, I don't know what I'm doing whatever it is it seems to be working.

After last night:

Foden this year (age 23):
0.49 goals per game
166 minutes per goal
0.23 assists per game

Lampard best season (09-10, age 31):
0.53 goals per game
167 minutes per goal
0.35 assists per game

Gerrard best season (08-09, age 28):
0.55 goals per game
147 minutes per goal
0.29 assists per game

Not quite at their best seasons yet... but close age 23.

Probably going to win player of the season for the club. Which is no small feat given the squad they have assembled... and grew up just 5 miles away from the stadium as a lifelong fan...

No Haaland stats this season? :sarcasm:

Still leading the league in goals, but 1 goal in 4 games against Arsenal and Liverpool doesn't look so great.
