If you cannot stop it, might as well get in front of it and tax the hell out of it.

You can also win an important election using it as a key issue to get young people out to vote. The conservatives made a really stupid play by trying to villainize Trudeau on the subject. It's going to have the reverse effect.

It's gonna be nice being able to walk into a pot shop and browse different brands and buy interesting paraphernalia. I think I'd like to buy a vaporizer. The investment in it would enormous for my health.

Here's some angry/drunkin controversial ramblings from FQL.

I find it archaic and offensive that we still shut down this country for one of the most ridiculous fables in human history. I'm all for celebrating the birth of the most important socialists ever to live but do we still have to go along with the farce of Easter? Just call it a civic holiday and make it 3 days, not 4. If you are a Christian, book a day off.

The Ukrainian crisis gets way too little coverage. I'm watching the National and it was a human interest story they aired instead of a real update and that was after stories of the South Korean sunk ship and a Boston Marathon piece. That is serious effed up.

And the Boston Marathon... This isn't new but they are milking a tragedy for political and economic gains. Apparently they expect twice the amount of people at the marathon this year. They've implemented almost military like security. I was royally pissed they used this in the NHL to have more security; bag checks, person searches etc. This was immediately after. Can you say Patriot Act? I was in Boston in October and every street corner had people selling Boston Strong merchandise. I asked a couple of them how much of the sales went to whatever the hell foundation that is and most of them said none or under 20%. Humans are ****ing terrible.

Pope Francis is really cool.

Why would you want to take Easter away from me dude?

The sheer look of terror on my step daughters face when I told her I will be capturing the bunny to cook for our Sunday meal was priceless... All week she was worried about the end of the Easter Bunny

Don't make me all nostalgic for easter egg hunts, Fuhr. I never was a big chocolate fan but damn, my parent did this so well. My dad would take us up to my step grandparents place in Round Lake and we'd be looking for eggs for hours. We'd end up on the dock at some point finding them in the boat. It's pretty telling though when the best parts of religious holidays are the capitalist incarnations of the Holy days ie Santa and the Bunny.

You sound like you're doing the whole parenting thing right though. We'll done, sir. I can't even imagine what I'd be like as a Dad.

And St. Peter is my home boy. If I'm wrong about the whole religion thing, I'd like to think I'll skip ahead in line at the gates. I only perspire to the lesser sins. Haven't killed anyone on purpose.

Well I'm giving this board a little break at least until the draft. Too many whiners, more talk about money and crap lately on here.

Later!

As someone who was there today, it was absolutely military like security, there were people from ATF, Homeland Security, Secret Service, Military Police, NYPD, State police from all over the area and guess what no one reasonable had any issue with it, cause guess what security is all that matters really. I'd much rather wait 10 minutes longer in line that have to worry if my young child is really safe.

That said, I don't like the whole Boston Strong crap. I despise the people who keep selling that stuff. It's garbage.

My biggest annoyance with it is that the US acts like it is such a huge tragedy, then goes out a kills as many innocent people every other weak in a drone strike

Eh, I think there is a bit of a difference between an attack deliberately targeted at civilians and one that is targeted at terrorists / 'enemy combatants' but incurs collateral damage.

Both situations are tragic: one is malicious, the other is reckless.

I would really have a problem with that, personally. It doesn't seem like freedom to me. It would be enough for me to avoid an event entirely. The NHL hoped on board not because they were worried about the fans' security, but because they can keep people from smuggling in booze and snacks. Sell more 13 dollar beers and 5 dollar slices of pizza.

Fair enough. You still hear almost nothing about the later though. At the very least it gives of the impression that they don't care.

The irony in it all is that the attacks were motivated in large part by the collateral civilian deaths caused by American drone strikes.

American activity in the middle east has really grown the islamic fundamentalist movement in places like Pakistan. It's a lot worse than when they first got involved in Afghanistan over a decade ago.

For sure. Ironic on two levels.

First, what you've mentioned: the West's war against terrorism has helped the recruitment efforts of terrorist organizations.

Second, terrorist organizations that use Western collateral damage to recruit new members are actually responsible for more civilian deaths and injuries in the ME than the West.
