Give it up, all I've been hearing for the past 3 years

There has to be a reason to justify their claim of being the best at the same time that Canada will finish no higher than 3rd. It should be noted that Gudbranson, Couterier, and Johanson were all members of Team Canada last year, but their presence wasn't enough to win Gold. I can't believe that they've gotten that much better in one year.

no one here cares about world champion tournament cause it isnt the best of the best

now this is

Where are the other 6 games? If it isn't best-of-seven, it isn't worth the attention, haven't you still learned this?

It was just one fluke game that lasted 0.000114 years. Come on, anything can happen during 0.000114 years.

You don't believe players that have made the jump from juniors to the NHL have got that much better in one year? Or that having Nugent-Hopkins, Seguin, and Skinner in addition to those players wouldn't allow Canada to thrash any team in the tournament? That's extreme ignorance.

That said, it's a good thing for the WJC tournament that these players aren't available to Canada or else we would see them easily win the tournament every year like in North Dakota during the lockout. It would just be boring to see them completely outmach every team every year, even for Canadians.

Yes, it was a complete fluke that the clearly superior team on paper won the game easily.

I don't even understand why they actually played the game? Paper hockey sounds way better! Canada will always win... oh wait, they actually always win... at least in all the non-joke tournaments*

* A tournament's status of being a joke/not being a joke is announced after Canada wins/loses the decisive game.

They are in a crucial developmental stage so I wouldn't underestimate the development that has occurred. I think it's hard to deny that RNH, Skinner, Seguin and the gang would have had a significant impact. But the special thing about Canada is they can be missing 6 of there top players but they are gonna compete for a medal. And for the first time in a decade they won't be competing for a gold medal. Pretty impressive, which is why people will get satisfaction in their loss.

No, these players did not suddenly undergo a metamorphosis that would make them capable of end-to-end rushes while dribbling the puck with their tongue, and score five or six goals a game against the level of competition offered by Sweden, the United States, Russia, and Finland. These guys aren't in the NHL because they are phenomenal talents that dominate NHL veterans (Nugent-Hopkins may end up being a superstar some day) - they are there because there is a severe shortage of talent sufficient to fill out a 25-man roster for 30 NHL teams. That's 750 or more jobs that need to be filled. There aren't 750 Sidney Crosbys or Yevgeny Malkins to staff the NHL.

The kind of numbers these guys are putting up against opposition more often than not composed of average to mediocre talent does not indicate that they could skate around and through the best juniors in the World as if they were pylons. The NHL DESPERATELY needs 17, 18 and 19 year old talent (they would take 15 or 16 year olds if it were legal to do so) to simply fill out roster spots with better than average talent. But better than average is not the same as superior. Is Boston a high-scoring team because of Seguin, or is Seguin scoring goals because his team makes it possible for him to do so?

Nope Im not mad, Im just stating the obvious haha......Team Russia gave up 58 shots and at least 4 posts or crossbars.....you won by the skin of your a$$ and that was without 7 of our top players U20.....haha so funny you think you are even competitive hahahahahaha

The way you put it, it almost sounds like we lost. The Bronze Medal game has already started, so it's too late to switch places and let the champions of shots on goal and hit goalposts to assume their rightful place in the Gold Medal game. Good luck against Finland, and don't hit too many posts, eh! (Note: sometimes hitting posts can be a vision problem that can be fixed by a visit to the optometrist).

It's funny you use that every time it goes your way, but when it doesn't. It's always the refs or some other teams fault.

Or it was Canada not playing the whole game.

But yes, Canada was good in the Olympics. They had the best coach.

The skin of their a$$ were up 6-1.

6-1.

Canada didn't give up, but they lost fair and square.

And no it wasn't. Those players weren't available. Therefore they are not in contention.

Easy 4-0 win, 40 shots on net in first 2 periods, put it on cruise control in the 3rd.

All this with at least TEN top U20 Canadian players not in the line-up.

Remember who is missing, would have been total DOMINATION with every available, unfortunately its not best on best.

If Sweden has Larsson and Landeskog they easily wipe their a$$es with Russian jerseys tonite!!

Someone seems very upset  Russia was also missing players and when Canada has 8 times more Junior players than Russia I think it hurts Russia more if they are missing players.

Get over it you lost and it is only your country that takes Juniors this seriously. Russia played the night before too

I think this thread has run its course.
