Sting very fortunate to get the win.they forgot some things that got them this far.Fazio was a stud tonight and the difference.Kyrou had a few beauty goals.refs called lousy penalities both ways and missed some also.Soo is a good team and the score really didn't reflect the game.Soo did a great job exposing the weakness of our defence.Sting stood around way too much tonight

This was one of those games we should have lost.Fazio stood on his head & then some.We didn't forecheck enough,we were not physical early, defense sat back & waited/watched too much.I still don't like our defense & its gonna cost us.

Great streak for the Sting!!

The coaches though have to be a bit concerned with getting outshot every night. Hopefully it doesn't cost them.

Looking forward to Sunday

I thought the Sting were very fortunate to win that game. SSM outplayed the Sting by quite a bit. Difference was Fazio hands down. He was an absolute stud. I agree that the coaching staff need to be concerned about being out shot every game...SSM exposed our weak spot on D and if it wasn't for Faz this game ends up 7-6 for the Soo. This game proves that we will need to address the young and shaky blue line if we want to contend at some point. Too mush to ask of Fazio in a 7 game playoff series. SSM could see a few suspensions dished out. One to Carrol for his hit on Hough with 13 seconds left and one for sure to Katchouk for shotting the middle finger to the penalty box camera....that could be a 5 gamer.....stupid.

Anyway......another W none the less!!!

What was up with Rymsha. Not his first time he did this.Soo takes a 4 min penality and he was busy yapping to the Soo player and easily could have taken a 2 min.Hatcher was yelling at him also but then he turned around and put him on the PP.Sit his $ss on the bench until he gets it.That could have been a game changer

a bit annoying seeing the fans leaving early. It's Sarnia, you've got nothing better to do. Stick around and cheer them at the end.

Not all Sting fans live in Sarnia.I am 50 min away and dont want to get caught in the parking lot wars with still the drive ahead.Lots of fans there last night from Wallaceburg,Chatham,Chatham-kent and Strathroy Middlesex.Just worry about how many show up which has been an issue, not when they leave.

I don't know if I would say they were fortunate to win. Having a good goalie plays a major part of winning. A lot of talk about the sting defence not being very good, but I lost count of the times the Sting forwards cruised by the Soo defence. Soo had a 5 on 3 power play in the third for over a minute and failed to generate a grade A scoring chance. (props to the PKers and Coach Staubitz) If the Soo are the second best team in the west the Sting should have no problems.

Ah yes, you didn't want to get caught in the 5-10 minutes it takes to leave the parking lot. The 40 is beside the arena. I understand your rush to get home and do nothing.

A good goalie would have never won the game for the Sting.Fazio was outstanding.Thats the ONLY reason we won.The Sting cant allow 50+ shots per game to any team and expect there always going to win.We cant continually expect the PK to bail them out.Quit the stupid penalties and the PK is not required. The Soo cycled the puck in our zone with lots of quality scoring chances and the D looked aweful.Grima was just a pylon.I dont know what happened to his game. Our forwards up till last night were excellent at blocking shots. We cant put them through game after game of that as thats when the injuries start happening. The Soo also knows there defence is weak but that doesnt make it ok for us.Soo goalie wasnt as sharp as he has played this year.He was good but not great.

lol how can you say a team that scored 6 goals ONLY won the game because of it's goalie? It's important to track not only the shots on goal, but what kind of shots they are. Were they shots from the slot, Grade A chances, or more from the outside. Don't just look at the shot clock and assume the game flow based on that. I agree Soo had a great cycle and probably won puck possession and SOG based on that, but the Sting had more Grade A scoring chances, more odd man rushes and just looked more skilled. I could be wrong, but I don't remember the Soo getting a lot of odd man rushes. As for penalties, I'm not quite sure where thats coming from; Sting had 8 pims I believe and the Soo had like 20? A fluke puck over the glass was one of them for Sarnia. Fazio's save % is .933 which is absolutely insane for Junior hockey, but I don't think he's stolen a game the whole year

they were outplayed... fazio saved their bacon many times... SSM was faster and looser...luckily we pulled it out in the third... Thought that was 25's best game as a Sting... he even checked someone.... agree with the Grima comment... he is 4th line D man at best... i would go with Henderson or Kammeerererer before him... same with 10 ... did nothing... two could be combined for a good defence man

davewheeler, not sure what game you watched last night but Fazio absolutely stole that game for the Sting. If it wasn't for him it would be 7-6 SSM or more. Fazio stopped at least 5 prime scoring opportunities that would have resulted in a goal for most goalies in this league. Our wingers have been getting out of position frequently when we start scrambling around in our own end, it's almost like we go into a PK mode even though it's 5 on 5 hockey. This needs to be addressed. Battles need to be won along the boards and the first pass out needs to be perfected. Those 6 goals would not have been enough without a red hot Fazio...guaranteed.

Grima needs to go. He looks uninterested and has been our worst D the last few weeks. It's frustrating because some games he's been fantastic. Salinitri had a great start but has cooled off. If the return was a top 2 d-man for Grima, Salinitri and a 3rd I'd go for it.

Not sure what Windsor is doing but even Swapping Grima, Salinitri and a bunch of picks for Day and Brown....kind of an interesting thought...lol. Sali is a Windsor native.

I agree the sting were out played, but the score shot made it look worse than it was, so many of the soo's shots were from the outside or at the blue line when they were entering the stings zone, and they were shot right at fazio chest, they can take a 100 of those shots all it's going to do is make fazio a numbers better, I think the grade A scoring chances were quite even and at then end of the day that's what matters not shots from far out with no traffic in front of the net

Not sure I can agree on Salinitri. He is the back bone of our PK.He and Franko.Maybe 5 on 5 I would maybe agree. If we see that in Grima,I am sure Windsor staff see its also. Not sure they would be interested. If I was Windsor, even though it doesnt usually happen,I would go after one of the rookie forwards.Sting cant afford to give up a rookie Dman.Jacko on D has a few flashes last night.Big boy

I guess when I say cooled off I mean point wise. Yes, he has been a massive part of our PK success. I'm very wary of trading him because he does have a high ceiling talent wise so the return would have to be significant.

Too be honest,I don't think we need Brown.I would much rather catch a couple Dman instead.scoring isn't the problem and wouldn't want to give up what it would take to get Brown

First Soo goal was an odd man rush...just before that Hatcher I think it was got burned and Katchouk sailed in alone and almost scored.. 24 was lost all night. Don't think he saw a shift in 3rd, something which was expected by that point.

All this crap about poor defense , totally dependent on a great goal tender ! these guys bought this team 3 years ago in nearly last place and now are #1 in the country , plus a near sellout for the last game ! Wake up and enjoy the success

I think we are all enjoying the ride don't get me wrong. However a lot of us have invested into this hockey club and this is also a open forum to discuss the good, bad and ugly of the team so not too sure why you're so crabby about it. The general consensus around here is way more positive then negative towards this team and the direction they are heading.
