please keep this mind when you are making rosters

Panarin has A bonuses worth $850 K

Categories are
1) top 6 F in TOI
2) 20G
3) 35 A
4) 60 pts
5).73 PPG
6) Top 3 in +/-
7) All Rookie Team
8) All Star Game
9) All Star Game MVP

I don't know what the A breakdown is, however cancel 8 and 9. If he is as good as some of you say, better add $850 to his cap number.

TT has $600k in bonus too.

Wouldn't those bonuses be for next year?

Those that aren't covered by free cap space this year. However, you have to bear in mind that the Hawks may already be eating $1M from Bickell in 16-17 though buyout or cap retention, so you're really starting to add up the cap penalties if you defer the bonuses

At end of day if it is between Rozy and Rundblad for #7 spot it is simple

Who has proven capable of playing NHL defense? Rozy
Who has proven capable of playing NHL playoff hockey? Rozy
Who has proven willing to take take a hit to win puck battle? Rozy

Who has been disaster defensively , trainwreck in playoffs and is softest Hawk of this era? David ####### Rundblad

If Rozy was 5 years younger, your argument would hold water.

All the cap sites use avg salary w/o ELC bonuses.

At the end of the year you calculate what each player costs

days on roster * daily avg salary + bonuses made

So if Panarin stayed up the whole year his cap hit would be

$812,500

If he makes all his A bonuses of $850,000, his cap hit would be

$1,662,500

If he makes all his B Bonuses of $1,725,000 mil, his cap hit would be

$3,387,500

People have been just using his $812,500 cap hit to make their rosters. IMO,
it really should be $1,662,500 to get a fairer representation of his cap hit.

Thanks for the ELI5 :handclap:

Don't be disappointed

We are all waiting to see what we get for sharp and bickell and who else gets traded, but I don't think the return will be all that favorable.Draft choices and maybe prospects that's what's being reported.A first rounder would be nice but I just don't see it ,so let's hope Stan can get us enough choices to make the draft interesting for our future.

Given the hypothetical choice for next season, you obviously take Rundblad over Rozsival. Stan cannot give Q the option of an aging safety blanket that he will assuredly default to over the young kids.

Force Q to choose between the young'ins and develop the one(s) he likes best.

Well, it was a good thing we had Roszival for the 1st 2 series, as he was much better than anything else we trotted out there in the playoffs. I don't think it should be Roszival, but I do think we need a Vet that can play #5 mins down the stretch and into the playoffs, not kids. (unless they are really good)

For the love of god can something happen already. Trade Sharp, trade Bickell, I don't care which. Just do something already.

The suspense is [not literally] killing me.

Yeah that sounds about right

I want a Rundblad 6-year $7 million extension.

But seriously, I don't think he should have a spot next year. I would rather some of the younger kids get a go.

Agreed. They should keep Runblad. Cheap, and young enough still that maybe he could still make improvements. Unless something better comes along, seems like a reasonable option.

- Cheap because he is not NHL talent
- Is not young anymore
- Has failed in every stop of NHL career

I guess the Hawks should trade for Skille + Olsen and bring in Beach for look... Enough already

He is a 1st round bust who cant play

I don't have a problem with extending Rundblad for 1 year. He gave up a 2nd round pick for him, might as well. Not holding out much hope for him though.

That is horrible logic

"We already threw away a 2nd + over a year on guy ,,, But hey lets throw away another year/roster spot on him because he cost us a 2nd"
