Predicting another loss (I had Habs winning 4-2 yesterday). Let's hope I'm wrong but I'm gonna say 5-2 Sabres, Hodgson first star with 3 points.

wouldn't mind seeing Reims get the start. make a statement that it's a true tandem to start the year, and avoid putting any undue pressure on either of them.

I'd say go with Scrivens for the next two games and we'll get to see what level he's really at with two progressively more 'difficult' teams and then give Reimer the Islanders as his introduction on home ice and then go from there.

I think you stick with Scrivens for another game. The Sabres looked good today but they were facing a Flyers team playing a 12:30 game after an afternoon game the previous day in another city. Not the best of circumstances and the Sabres capitalized.

We never win when I see the Leafs play the Sabres. Sorry boys, but I'm probably bringing bad luck.

On the flip side, I have never seen the Sens score a goal on the Leafs in Ottawa.

Well there seems to be a very simple solution. See ya Wednesday. :D

I go with Reimer he has a pretty good track record in opening games, and while Scrivens was solid he didn't have to be amazing. If Reimer plays great than awesome now you have both guys fighting for the job and playing at their best early on. I think its important you give both guys confidence early on, I think this is a good chance for Reimer, he would be so amped up.

Lets hope that a 6 day training week+back-to-back games will gass the Fluffalo Gaybres and we'll come out with a comfy 4-2 win.

We should be able to beat them.
Their second game in two nights. We are rested. And their team is not really THAT good.

Look I'm a hardcore leafs fan, but I have said this before and I'll say it again the leafs have been absoloute garbage for the past 4 years we are in NO position to underestimate any team given our positon.

Yes, the Sabres have downgraded offensively but they have an elite goalie in net who usually gives us problems whenever we face him not to mention their powerplay is sizzling. This sabres team will fight us tooth and nail, but we have an advantage home court ice with the fans behind us and IF we can play like we did the for the first 2/3 of opening night then we have a decent shot but there are no guarantees.

FWIW, we've split the season series with the Sabres the last two seasons. Something like 3-2-1 in both seasons IIRC. It'll be a tough game no doubt, always is, but we should have a chance.

JVR scores 2 for the leafs. Leafs lose 4-3 however. Scrivens starts allows 2 weak goals in the third.

Tyler Myers was a beast today. The Leafs should look to neutralize him by trying to hit him every chance they get. His skating was really effective in creating the offense for the Sabres. I also noticed Leopold having a good game.

I'm a bit worried about how Carlyle is going to matchup with the line combos of the Sabres. I really hope that he keeps Kessel away from Foligno.

Bonus for us is that they'll be tired. This was their first game for a long time and they are still probably gassed from today.

Is it confirmed we're having the same lineup? I don't expect Carlyle to switch it up though.
