He's probably back to Russia before that happens or locked in the AHL like Pulkkinen, Frk.

Sokolov won't get much of an opportunity to prove himself in the NHL I feel, hoping he kills it and forces someone to give him a good look though.

He either got bumped up in the lineup or he's being very clever with his line changes. Aside from just scoring more, more of his points seem to involve guys like Mayhew and Anas lately.

For the scoring talent he has, Sokolov sure seems to be a polarizing figure. Is his defense that bad? What gives because on scoring talent alone he should already be on the big club?

His skating isn’t great and he’s not a very well rounded player at all. His shot is top notch, definitely NHL ready, but the rest of his game is severely lacking.

Skating hasn't really been an issue this year imo. He actually looks good, combined with his stick handling he is very shifty. He has earned more ice time.

Pretty surprised that he hasn't signed in the KHL given the uncertainty with the AHL and the fact that he was disrespected by being loaned to the ECHL. Would think it would make sense to go back to Russia.
