Nice to see that Sokolov knows where the net is, but that goal was all about Shaw. What a find he has been!

if you take a look in slo-mo you'll see that he had to swerve at the line to slow down and avoid an off side, then start back up. Made him look awkward. The main thing is that he got his feet and hands in scoring position. Seems simple, but many players can't do it.

He is doing better than I thought he'd do in his first season so far, still not sold he will be more than a minor league scorer / decent KHL player. Hopefully he can prove me wrong.

I can't help but think of Guillaume Latendresse when I see him play. Lots of scoring ability but his skating seems so labourious. That can't work in today's NHL.

He really has to work on that and in the interviews I read about him he doesnt seem to even know it.

Hopefully he's getting his 2nd wind. First full year in the pros can be quite the adjustment.

i really think he needed this year to adjust to the pros & next year he'll be better. i hope the wild have him work with the same skating coach vanek did. the season after next just imagine KAPRIZOV ; (khovanov / svetlakov / xxx ) SOKOLOV wilds 3rd line em em good! (campbells soup reference)

There is a nicer clip on the Wild board, showing him totally dangling the defender with a great move.
