There's no more basis for Laine being on that board than just to get clicks and generate heat. No rumors. No player discontent. Nothing more concrete than a hundred random fan-created trade threads on social media.

Seravalli shows that he's a hack.
Very true... he’s definitely in Eklund territory

Talk of trading Laine reminds me of the time when the Jets 1.0 trade Dave Babych for Ray Neufeld. You just don't get the return you want, everyone says it's the worst trade ever made, and the fans all want the GM's head on a stick.

Trade Laine, go ahead Chevy, but you better pray it works out.

It always works.

There's something different about fans speculating about what the Jets could or should do to improve their favourite team, from a sports journalist using that sort of wild speculation to suggest that Laine is on the trade block. He provides absolutely no basis for his speculation.

The correct term for what Seravalli has done on this is "yellow journalism".

I’d say more like “brown journalism”, because Seravalli and his article are full of shit!

Except that even last year Ehlers had some of the best controlled exit/entry numbers in the entire league. Even Scheif and Wheeler had great numbers in that regard. Laine's numbers were some of the worst on the team and his passing out of the zone numbers were worse than any other player we dressed this year.

I didn't see anyone coming out of our zone well LY - and when they did, it was usually on a shift change when there was nothing in the way.
None of these guys are good at zone exits when we are bottled up in our end -

Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble but we won’t be able to sign Laine long term. Our team cap won’t allow it for one. He won’t take a team friendly deal since he has been marginalized since he was drafted.

The only scenario he stays is that he plays with Scheif all year and that is not going to happen

Chevy chose Wheeler over Laine when he gave Wheeler that 8.25m AAV extension

This is crap . Wheeler deserved that contract and embraced Winnipeg unlike any other player. He could of got more elsewhere.

Maurice has chosen wheeler over Laine. Chevy has not helped the situation by not giving Maurice any other options other then to split is safeguard first line up ad play Laine with little

Percent of 5v5 ice-time on a line with Scheifele - 2019/20:

Laine 73.8%
Connor 72.8%

Add little to that line up and watch the numbers drastically reverse.

That’s like helly going down and saying Maurice gave brossiott a real shot. Ignoring facts to make subjective points

Spin it anyway you want and leave out any facts you want Laine knows why he played with Scheif.
