Blais-Sissons-Goodrow would be the best third line in the league.

Are they still cap compliant come playoff time with Stone back?
Come playoff time there is no salary cap to worry about. How do you think Tampa Bay cheated last year with Kucherov conveniently being healed for Game 1 of the playoffs? Vegas will do everything they can to get through the regular season and be "healthy" come playoff time. They are already without Pacioretty and now without Stone they will be plenty under the cap to fit Eichel in. Then they dont have to trade Reilly Smith and he walks as a UFA. And here are the Rangers with $35 million in cap space at the TDL but playing by the rules and worrying about the cap for the next couple of years by trading a guy like Buchnevich...This is why there has to be a cap for the playoffs. If your player is on IR at the end of the season he cannot be eligible for the playoffs. Why have a salary cap if teams fake recovery times for their players and have a $98 Million dollar payroll for the playoffs?

So stone missing tonight's game. Cue the ltir for the shoulder injury he's been playing through the past number of weeks. Eichel problem semi solved...

Seems like every few weeks we get our hopes up that Reilly Smith will shake loose and then another Vegas player goes on LTIR. Such a tease

Pacioretty has been back for several games now.

There was some truth about Miller being a party boy. I can’t comment on the unpopular in the room part.

I believe there was something to a vet or two trying to get him more on board with being committed and he just didn't have an interest in doing that as much. Not going to optional practices or gliding in regular practices.

JT Miller is a different player now then when he was with the Rangers originally. He is so much more confident and is on a good contract through next season. He had an amazing coast to coast goal last night against Arizona. I'd go after Miller since he wont be a pure rental, add a 3rd liner, and a bottom pair LD. With roughly $35 Million in cap space to play with this season at the TDL, not only can the Rangers take on players for the strecth run they can also help other teams shed some cap space by having them attach a pick with their player. Use this cap space that they have accrued and use it to their advantage. Here are some deals I thought of:

Reilly Smith ($5 Million) and 2022 3rd Round Pick (pick the Rangers traded away for Reaves)
For
Future Considerations
-Helps Vegas get under the cap to fit Jack Eichel into their lineup, assuming they dont LTIR Stone until the playoffs.

Colton Sceviour, Philip Broberg and Mikko Koskinen ($4.5 Million)
For
Alexandar Georgiev and 2023 3rd Round Pick
-Edmonton needs a goalie to help salvage their season, neither Smith or Koskinen are working out. Georgiev needs a fresh start. Gets us a 4th liner, a prospect, and Koskinen who is a pending UFA.

JT Miller ($5.25 Million)
For
Nils Lundkvist, Vitaly Kravtsov, 2022 1st Round Pick, 2022 3rd Round Pick (acquired in the Reilly Smith deal)
-Ranger fans have mixed feelings about Miller but he is on a good contract for this year and next.

Arturri Lehkonen
For
Filip Chytil
-Lehkonen is a defensive forward with a good shot, Chytil still has an NHL future but no longer with the Rangers, needs a change of scenery like Georgiev.

Nick Leddy ($5.5 Million)
For
Patrik Nemeth, Matthew Robertson and a 2022 4th Round Pick
-Leddy is still very mobile and would be a great LD option on the 3rd pair. Nemeth goes to a team that he is familiar with. Robertson gets Detroit a project on D.

Vegas is not going to need to add to Reilly Smith to move him. They certainly are going to get a better offer than that and future considerations.

The rest of the moves are banana land. Why do we need to make that trade with Edmonton? And there this not going to be that much personnel changes

I agree with EJ. Montreal's interim coach got a 3 year contract extension last summer. $1.7M per. The Habs weren't planning to change coaches but things disintegrated so fast in Montreal. The players stopped listening to him. He lost them. The Habs are paying Julien $5M per. Something happened there. They lost to the Devils at home. 7-1.

Both E.J and Frank would be in the heavy weight class. Frank has a bit of that Alex Jones kind of muscle armor under his fat going but E.J might have the overall size advantage. Frank would be smart to remain patient and defensive and tire E.J out and look to take advantage in a prolonged fight.
