He's been on fire but the more I think about it, the more I believe that Bennett and Tkachuk's styles aren't as compatible as Bennett with Gaudreau. The 2nd line plays a strong, slow cycle game that wears down the opposition whereas Bennett is more of a north-south guy that plays with a lot of speed and on the counter-attack a lot.No question Monahan is our top C, but Bennett outplayed him tonight. I think as Bennett continues down this road, his confidence will grow and he will relax more with the puck on his stick and we will see him finish more. I’ve said this before, but at some point I’d like to see Bennett play C on a line with Tkachuk. Those 2 were made for each other.
Only problem is that Lindholm has been a beast and I don't see Peters splitting Gaudreau and Monahan anytime soon so Bennett will have to continue clawing and scratching his way up to the top-6
