I saw that too. It was an incredibly stupid article given what we've achieved the past two years and given the injuries/fatigue the team was dealing with.

Same here. I honestly don't believe he actually roots for the Pens. He loved (well, loves) MAF, DB and Shero. He has ripped Sid and Geno to no end. Don't recall him ever speaking highly of HCMS or Matt Murray.

To be fair, Cook may in fact be that. That's more an indictment of Pittsburgh media than it is a compliment of Cook.

What really did it for me re: Rossi is when he literally had to have Neal and Malkin explain to him what an F3 is. If you've played or watched the game for more than a few years, you know what an F3 is. This guy's literally PAID TO WRITE ABOUT THE SPORT, yet doesn't have the slightest clue about a simple strategic concept?

He's outright said he doesn't cheer for them, if I recall. Some bs about remaining unbiased since he's a journalist or some garbage like that.

Sam Werner quitting the Pens beat on the PG to pursue an MBA at UVA.

He was excellent but as a Notre Dame man he always striked me as someone who wanted to do more. Started at the bottom (Pitt football beat lol) but will be very successful somewhere after he receives his degree for sure. Best of luck to him.

I forget which game it was, (5 or 6) but it was one of the last games, and Kessel took a few shifts with Malkin and looked like whatever was ailing him just sort of vanished. His speed was back and he ripped a couple of wristers. It was the best he had looked in months, but it only lasted those few shifts. He went right back to standing still along the walls and losing pucks as soon as he was back with Sheahan/Brassard.

Maybe it was adrenaline, or maybe where there's smoke, there's fire. Hard to say, but I definitely found it odd.
