This team looks so much more confident in 4-on-4. They're a skill team that lacks the passing and speed to make tight plays, so the additional space allows them to play their skill game more easily.

Djoos looks like his offense can pay the bills. If he solidified his defense he’ll be a mainstay on the backend.

I just tried to imagine John Carlson skating/moving the way Djoos did on that goal, and I got a pretty good chuckle out of the thought.

The Caps were 3rd last year in ES goals, only behind the Penguins and the Wild.
Yet they struggled mightily to score in the playoffs, when crisp puck movement, speed entering the zone, and net presence is needed. Trotz is a mediocre at best coach on that side of the ice.

They had the puck all the time, the Caps dominated the series against the Penguins. They just couldn't score on MAF in game 7. Go watch game 5 and game 6 again.
